^ Same in Masjid Al haram but seperate in Haram al Madinah (Masjid Nabawi).
At Makkah, after you enter you will have to seperate if you stay in the masjid area. But if you go down for tawaf, there are rows of carpets there as well. Here the women stay at the back and men in the front and this rule is not always fully implemented.
As for barbers, you will see their shops when you move from your hotel to the Haram and back. Don't worry. When a person takes this step towards Allah SWT with sincerity..HE opens doors to guide you.
The stories are countless and each one is equally amazing as to how strangers come and help za'aereen when they need help.
