I doubt it.
some wrong decisions were made by the Army's high Command at that time. If talk about it, it needs anothr thread.
Re: A new country in the making?
No Cool Breeze it is another problem...because these are the masters in Washington saying Lala Masjid wallas are villion so the catching on the buzz-word..if tommorrow Washington says Lala Masjid Wallas are hero, there would be people here joining the orchestra...This is called Bandwagoning...Singing the same songs as Washington, in hope of $$$s and out of slavish mentality not for long term stability of Pakistan ...When Washington needs it you create the worst monsters, when Washington is done with it, then you do the dirty job .......Tell me which of Pakistan's strategic obectives did the Islamic militant organizations, spawned by the establishment, achieve in Kashmir or Afghanistan or elsewhere ...Pathetic...
Re: A new country in the making?
Fraudz,
How can you even say that army shouold have dropped a bunker buster. Is there no value of innocent kids & women?. Most of them were orphens. Did they have any place to go??
Couldn't govt offer them some arrangement of food & lodging in advance or something so they could feel safe and try to leave the place. It was supposed to be done waaay before govt decided to attack the place.
Re: A new country in the making?
does retd aslam beg mean retired or retarded? I think both fit.
atleast he stayed in the bunkers during his tenure....
Re: A new country in the making?
they asked them to leave many times, and they did not..and some of those who left we heard their views on TV shows afterwards. Farishtay firing on soldiers and that kind of stuff.
how long did u want the stalemate to continue.
oh and yes they did have places to go, had they come out or been allowed to leave by the powers that be in the place. Groups like edhi and kashana and sos villages would have taken them in.
khas kam jahan pak, hopefully that is a lesson to other two bit thugs to not get too big for their britches and just be good boys.
leave? and go where??
they were offered assistance with lodging etc. when it was too late.
I'm not favoring lal masjid guys. ofcourse they gave a perfect excuse to the govt. but things could have been different with some strategic planning which we as a nation/as a govt always lack.
Re: A new country in the making?
and supported miltants like taleban and lashkar. yeah...he was too busy dickin around with that.
we all know why the army, govt & US supported Taleban at that time.

Now you've turned into just another conspiracy theorist. We already have many of those around, please go back to your pashtun nationalism gimmick.
Re: A new country in the making?
Let's see:
For the sake of temporary fix paki ppl supported a dictator.
He screws up and so paki ppl supported yielding sovereignty to condi.
Now she can't run her own war, so paki ppl have to yield territory to a new country?
How low can you go

Re: A new country in the making?
Sadly, majority of pashtuns can't seem to agree with you when they claim everyone from AQ Khan to Imran Khan as their own. Both fail your criteria for pashtun-ness.
You forgot all those Bollywood actors with the "Khan" surname. Their unabashed Hindustani facade is overlooked because of their global sex appeal you see, so they are Pashtuns!. :)
Remember the logic:-
Imran Khan Niazi - pure Pashtun - forget that his family are settled in Lahore, and he speaks rustic Pashto.
General A.K. Niazi - lapsed Pahstun - may or may not speak Pashto, but he had not such a brave record in the 1971 war.
Re: A new country in the making?
Man at times I almost shiver with surprise how you snatch thoughts right out of my head! ![]()
Seems you keep getting into my head with your Pir Powers and steal my thoughts ![]()
Re: A new country in the making?
^You mean retards get to become COAS?

They say Pushtoon is not a nationality or etnicity, It is a Kaifiat....
You may also feel like pushtoon at times...
Afridi is a real Pushtoon when he is batting...
Re: A new country in the making?
No sir, this was abt one particular COAS.
Plus, COASs become **retd **only after they are no longer COAS,
so whether they are retired or retarded at that stage has nothing to do with the state in which they become or serve as COAS ![]()
Re: A new country in the making?
What would the new country's flag and name be?
Re: A new country in the making?
^ Most importantly people want to know what Star (if any) on the flag would look like. We don’t want a hundred day war if it looks too much like the ‘Star of David’. ![]()
