Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

Hi, can you please give the quantities of the spices in the "magic spice powder"? I can tell it's whole black pepper, whole dhania, and zeera? And by red peper, do you mean like paprika or red chilli powder?

thanks

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

Shab...That magic spice powder,is it just cumin, whole coriander and black peppers...??

I am supposed to make chicken karahi tomorrow.I'll use this recipe and hopefully take pics ...:)

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

I added the quantities with the pic and yes chips only these three spices.

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

Not paprika.. the red cayenne pepper that we normally use for cooking.

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

thanks CB for this wonderful thread and to shabz for the lovely recipe :)

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

will try it soon and post pics iA! Please could somebody give an idea how to make khatti dahi? do you leave it out overnight? I believe you should use khatti dahi for chicken 65 too.

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

I have the khatti daal recipe in my thread! And no, you don't have to leave it out overnight! The imli/lemon juice is what gives it the khatta-pan!

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

^So KC, do you add lemon to the dahi, and wait for it to sort of curdle (like making buttermilk ) and then add to the dish?

Re: A New Challenge .. Guest: Shab-e-Hijr

i used pakeeza natural yoghurt which was of a khatta taste.
