Don't tell us what she said, but in your opinion, was it REALLY THAT IMPORTANT that she HAD TO meet you in person to talk about that?

She could have told me all this over the phone.
She was dealing with some major situation.
I don't know why was so abrupt on the phone, quite emotionless.

Weird.

But yes, her problem was humungous!

So just a few minutes ago, I get this strange phonecall from a friend I know since the past year but don’t meet that often.

Her: I need to meet you as soon as possible to discuss a matter of utmost urgency.

Me: could you tell me over the phone?

Her: no, not on the phone.

Me: At least give me an idea so I can prioritize accordingly on my calendar.

Her: I said, no, Can we meet today at 2 pm at the public library?

Me: If it’ll take just a few minutes then fine becasue I have to pick up kid from school soon after that. Otherwise Thursday will be better.

Her: Then can we meet tomorrow at 2. Same place?

Me: Fine.

Her. Don’t tell anybody!

I’m a little nervous, a little confused. Why would she choose me to talk about an unknown matter in such a secretive way? Why not come to my home? Why not over the phone???

All is well that ends well Dush. It was a private matter and for some reason she chose me to discuss it. She felt that closer friends may be more judgemental as they would know involved parties. I am glad I could help.
