I’ve heard this phrase many times. It has different perspectives. Please share what you understand of it.
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
Too much love (or jee jee acha acha behavior) for the the mother can create issues too.
There is some truth in it to the saying. I think if you have love and respect for your mother or sisters - you do treat your wife or women population better.
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
Its true.
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
It's very much true but just to clarify the meaning of 'love' here doesn't mean a chipku mama's boy.
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
as njgal said, their is a difference between love with respect .. and obsession ..
if you have love and respect for you mom, you would appreciate what your wife does and would have similar love and respect for her.
If you are obsessed with your wife, or your mom .. that is a totally different thing
A man who didn;t have a mom, would never have a wife :(
A man who didn;t have a mom, would never have a wife :(
no Allah will give him 8 instead of 4 :)

Oedipus much?

you are giving it a totally unnecessary twist

Does that means a person who had step mom would get a STEP wife??

alright, forgetting for a moment the creepiness factor, why would the love for a guys mother have anything to do with the ability to love his wife? (okay how is this not Oedipal again?) why mother? why not father? why not a sibling? it makes no sense, imho.
which makes me think it is a tall tale made up and spread by those who stand to benefit from such aphorisms being around in society - controlling moms, and momma's boys.
Oedipus much?

Queer -- YUCK!
alright, forgetting for a moment the creepiness factor, why would the love for a guys mother have anything to do with the ability to love his wife? (okay how is this not Oedipal again?) .
Because mother and wife are the 2 most influential women in a guy's life. That influence often clash with each other and that is why you hardly see problmes between Daughter in law/Father in law, but very often between Mother in Law/Daughter in Law ..
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
influence etc, sure.
ability to love mom = ability to love wife? how?
Re: "A man who doesn't love his mother can never love his wife"
Love in its most platonic form is the one that shows the trust, respect, gratefulness and humbleness you have for the person. You can have the same for the 2 most influential personalities in your life, unless you dont have that trait in your personality, in which case you will not have respect for either of them
