Our team performance outshines every other team in this tournament. I wish their streak stays formidable during the next battle.
I am positive that our boy will give 110% performance just like they have rendered in last two games.
In the end if result does not match our desires then please
Do not hurl abuse on Captain and team players
Please do not judge their intentions
Please do not accuse them of selling their motherland
Remember they are our brothers and they are performing for their country. They gave us a lot of pleasure in this tournament. We should acknowledge their efforts and Love them.
Regardless of the result on Wednesday the team has already done us proud. So yes I agree there should be no abuse hurled at them if they lose. One team is going to lose, hopefully it wont be us, but we are playing a very good team at home as well, so relax and enjoy and thank our team for a wonderful tournament so far.
Codey this is a very good thread (mods make it sticky please)
I was just thinking the same ..... it's joy to watch them again ..... after the Trauma ..... and PPL should atlast come to terms with what Ehsan Dada always maintains "Support the Team not Results" :D
On OP, as someone on media has put it, whatever we will win after qualifying for QF, is a bonus.
Lets me say it categorically, there is no other professional sports team in the world that goes through all of what Pakistan Cricket has gone though in last couple of years and still perform as good as Pakistani Team has done.
Whatever comes our way, a “morning after”, you will find me backing up Pakistani team once again
I agree to y’all in essence, I am already proud of the team. BUT I still don’t want to see any throw-away of wickets, sleeping misfields, happy-go-lucky captaincy, more verbal fight than cricket… I just want to see good competition whether we win or loose.
They have done more than what was expected from them. I’m proud of the fact that they have proved so many cricket pundits wrong. As soon as Pakistan played well, it became “a wide open tournament without any fav.” Before it was all Aus, SA, Ind.
Good idea. Yes we support them since they are showing that Playing for Pakistan is more important than anything else. They are showing that they are hungry to win this and the team management is actually doing “planning” in the right direction.
I personally think they have 110% chance of beating India tomorrow and if they don’t but go down fighting then all right minded fans will be with them!!!
Let’s also be realistic. India start as clear favourites 60: 40 or even 70:30 because of their superior batting. Our bowling is good though not hugely better than India’s and do remember that Indian batsmen play spinners very well, better than most other teams incl. Sri Lankans and Pakistanis so a spin-heavy attack won’t work against them like it did against Windies who seemed absolutely clueless against Hafeez, Afridi and Ajmal. For Pakistan to have any chance of beating India, their pace bowlers esp. Akhtar and Gul will have to be at their best and it goes without saying that knocking over Sachin and Sehwag early will be the key. The rest of the indian batters are no better than ours. If they have Yuvi, we have Umar Akmal (talented but careless). And Pakistan bat deep like India
Thankyou Arleitter and all indians for warm welcome
We both are hell of emotionally charged nations.
I pray for Pakistan team playing with same spirit and same energy like they are playing last two games. I wish they Just go till last ball and it should be nail bitting finish. I will be more than happy.
Do not want to derail thread but Umar Akmal is immensely gifted. Some of the shots he played against Lee and Tait were amazing, esp. one cover drive on the up. The guy is just a bit impatient and careless.
Yuvi is in great form right now but he has not always been consistent. Someone as talented as him should certainly be averaging more than 37 over a long career. don't you think so? Even Sehwag's ODI average should be better than mid-30s

Umar Akmal is a talented cricketer but Yuvi is a talented cricketer who has proved his worth over time. Talent is nothing without consistency over time. The cricket world is replete with examples of prodigous talents who fade away fast.
As for Yuvi's average, don't forget that he comes in at numbers 4-6 for India and if the likes of Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Ganguly, Dravid have already played 40+ overs it does not give him enough time to pile up a big score. Yuvi's average is 37 over 265 odd ODI games and Umar Akmal's is 39 over 20 games !! Its a lot harder to have a high average over a longer period, not the other way round.
And averages don't tell the full story. M Hussy averages 52 in ODIs and Tendulkar averages 45. Does that mean Hussy is a better batsman than Tendulkar ?
