Simple nikkah or around-the-world honeymoon? I’m not sure why the choices are on such extremes.
It’s possible to have a nice wedding without buying all “designer” stuff. It’s possible to have a nice wedding with around 150 guests instead of going to the extremes and inviting 600+ people or 30 people. It’s possible to do a nikaah and a nice reception only as opposed to having 4-5 different events (engagement party, multiple mehendi’s etc).
As for the trip around the world, we plan on doing that once we’re retired. Currently we take 2 international vacations every year (each 1 week long) and that’s plenty for us. A proper “around-the-world” trip takes at least a month or longer. At this point in our careers we don’t have the luxury to take that much vacation time off even if someone gave us the money for that trip.
