I would like to say honeymoon, but I would pick wedding. I would want to spend it on the wedding that all the people important to me could share. And hubby and I are the type that don't need to do a ton to enjoy each others company. I feel like we'd be happier with the simpler honeymoon, tho obviously I would prefer both :D

Wedding.to me it is the celebration of that moment the two of you come together for life.nothing can beat that (yeah yeah i am sappy whatever :snooty:)

^ nah logically it should be wedding. Wedding you celebrate with family and friends, NOTHING like it. Honeymoon and extravagant trips, you have all the time in the world to save up for and go together

Honeymoon!

I agree that the wedding is great in that everyone can enjoy and share it with you, but spending extra money on things like a designer dress doesn't mean they will enjoy it more! People love things like getting involved in the dances and being with you as you get ready to come into the room - sharing the experience with you. They will enjoy those things regardless of whether the dress and decor are simple or extravagant.

Whereas the extra money can really buy you more time on a honeymoon adventure. :)

BOTH for me...

as ive always dreamt of havin a grand but not too OTT wedding followed by a grand honeymoon as i LOVE to travel n see different places ALLAH has created.

Wedding should be simple. That's the Sunnah. So, avoid having a grand wedding.

Honeymoon!!

The wedding is not really just about us, a lot many people are involved & a lot of money is wasted making people happy who wouldn’t care the least. A honeymoon would be personal and more for the people who its meant to be.

P.S: That doesn’t mean i don’t want to dress up on my wedding :snooty:

Simple nikkah or around-the-world honeymoon? I'm not sure why the choices are on such extremes.

It's possible to have a nice wedding without buying all "designer" stuff. It's possible to have a nice wedding with around 150 guests instead of going to the extremes and inviting 600+ people or 30 people. It's possible to do a nikaah and a nice reception only as opposed to having 4-5 different events (engagement party, multiple mehendi's etc).

As for the trip around the world, we plan on doing that once we're retired. Currently we take 2 international vacations every year (each 1 week long) and that's plenty for us. A proper "around-the-world" trip takes at least a month or longer. At this point in our careers we don't have the luxury to take that much vacation time off even if someone gave us the money for that trip.
