Well I did not mean to start an argument here, but was simply trying to explain our side of the story. People generally have no idea about the efforts and hard work home based designer have to put in, so my intentions were simply to inform how much efforts it takes to create a designer custom made outfit and in return the margins are not what some people might be assuming.
By unrewarding business I did not mean we are making clothes on a loss or are unhappy with it but this type of perception is really disheartening sometime and urges you to tell our side of story as well. Certainly in our case the only way to success is through hard and quality work at reasonable prices which eventually adds to our cliental.
And to promote/advertise our work we have to takeout time for that as well. As we cannot afford to hire help to reply to our email queries at different forums/websites or update home pages etc as we cannot afford huge marketing expense.
Most of us dont have the capacity of having own karigar, rented places/ lavish boutiques etc , so we end up using local karigar etc at local rate and get along with their nakhras, /tantrums and face so many other problems . In order to produce quality work, we cannot rely on those aunties stitching clothes from home and ruin the dresses as they cannot make all the designer styles and are not aware of all the cuts or lacks designer finish. In order to save money we are left with working hard and do extra run around. We make single custom made dresses, not ready made in bulk where you can make same design in different size with same thaan. Certainly in our case the only way to success is through hard and quality work at reasonable prices which eventually adds to our cliental. And I think that's what some are doing ...
I think it is possible to do but i think you would probably have to compromise on quality of kapra. my mum returned from pak a couple of months ago and she was complaining about the extortionate prices being charged for pure kapra BUT interms of synthetics she said the prices were pretty cheap and there is plenty of variety and quality to choose from. YOu could also probably get something ready made in the 10-12k category But i think visiting pak and sitting abroad are two very different shopping experiences. If we went to pakistan ourselves, i think we could probably get something in the price ranges mentioned but I also take my hat off to the hard working HB designers like Proto, Aiman, catwalk and the others who are running around trying to get custom made outfits produced but the people i do object to are the ones are who charging double triple the prices of any other vendors, there are countless examples on FB where some so called designers are charging huge amounts for SS replicas. I've seen one, who is currently charging $300 for the chiffon replica i paid 13000 rs for, now that is plain greedy and i wouild go as far as saying immoral BUT where people are prepared to pay these silly prices, you will continue to get over charging. Sorry for my mini rant :(
please do keep us informed if you manage to getthe outfits in your price range.
It is possible, there are a lot of ready made formals in that range if you go to anarkali or fortress. But they will look a bit cheap though, since the fabric they use is quite poor quality as well as the work.
We can make replicas of designer dresses that are in your range. We can also suggest you some dresses other than this collection.

If you are based in Lahore, I maybe able to help you out. I got a fancy Eid suit, tent kameez style, made for me in Lahore by this guy, who has associations with HSY. I just paid 8k for it. This was a month ago.
Hi,
I'm getting married soon. Can you please help me out with a designer with exceptional designs and affordable price in Lahore?
i went to pak in june 2011 and the stitching for panel shirts n all that never came to 2000-2500, max was 1500even for chiffon and still ppl told me that shop was taking more but then there were high end darzis charging 3000rs for lawn suits too so as Muzna said as a consumer u do learn abt better rates and places. Also i went to khulla bazaar there the cloth was really cheap n other than cotton, lawn mostly those fabrics r no way low quality.
my hubby went to pak this yr and bought me many cotton/lawn stitched suits for 2000-2500rs. they had cotton dupattas instead of chiffon but the shirts r really nice. i threw the dupata n their trouser pants away n when i wear them with leggings ppl ask me where i got the shirt from. A friend of mine who goes Pak every year told me most of her suits were from thread n motifs n she bought them for 5-10k where if u ask anyone online they will charge u 150-300 easily. I myself saw a very delicate n elegant formal dress for 8k @ Chineyere.
Obviously not everyone in pak wears 15-20k formals.
OMG! that's really cheap coz I was in Pak last year and my tailor was charging me way too much. This was in Islamabad. I was stupid enought to pay a guy 4000 for a panelled kameez. Time was short and I was really stressed about clothes not being made on time so I gave my clothes to 3 different people. The cheapest one was charging 1500 for a normal suit!

I knew the prices on Threads n Motif's page were over inflated. The one suit I want is $205 and certainly does not look like its worth that much.
