Is it me or is the younger generation getting more filthy day by day? They curse out normally as if they’re saying hello (and it’s not only guys who do that the girls can be as filthy or even more). No moral values, no limits at all and no sense of self respect. And my God..the words they use..
what could be the reasons and how can we fix this problem?
Would you respect a person who swears and talks dirty all the time?
All I wonder what the future holds for them, in return what the future holds for us? Either really good or really bad for us. I mean who’s going to contribute to society? These people? I don’t think so, the majority of youth are going down the drain (ie: here in my neighborhood)..
Every older generation says that about the younger generation, not to say it's not true, but it's a sure sign that you're getting older and more mature.
^ Parents can only go so far. After a certain age, the outside world becomes a stronger influence on the kids, esp kids in school, tv/music etc.. you can't shield them from everything (i.e., take em outta school, not let them interact iwht anyone) and expect them to grow up to be mature, well rounded individuals.
I think it’s the culture thing… One thing is for sure that males in pakistan start using curse words at early age… I hardly saw women using such words (I have seen some but then again, their education level was below ZERO)… Generally, it is a taboo and considered disgusting in the Women (Urban, according to my experience) … It may have changed by now, I am sure… after the ‘Enlightened Moderation’ of Musharraf… The type of programs and language on Media of Pakistan are good enough to familiarize the culture and diction of West and USA to our teenage generation…
I have actually noticed that girls brought up or those who live in the culture of WEST & USA are more blunt, for lack of a better word…
No, I do not feel respect for people who use foul language…

Being blunt and honest are completely different than having a foul mouth. At least being honest is better than being a two-faced moron who laughs and coos at how the first word their baby said was "bhan."
Please dont’ confuse honestly/bluntness with being foul-mouthed, again, completely different things. And nowhere did I use curses to express myself, unless you think “moroN” is a curse. The “bh” was just used to illustrate my point
There’s gratuitious/unnecessary cursing but then there are some peopl who deserve gandi gaaliyan
When i went to college, arguably the best in Pakistan, i found that "bh" is used as a "takiya-e-kalaam". Once i was visiting a class mate whos father was colonel back then and he was using this "bh" word freeely in presence of his wife and children.
Kids in every generation pick up these things, IMO its just a stage and will pass. I remember my studying days at was same. Bad words were like takiya qalam. But as we grew out of it, I am sure the new generation will as well with a few exceptions of course.
WRT using bad words in front of the family is totally stupid.
Sadly, swearing has become a part of everyday conversation. I think the reason why we see more and more kids swearing could be because it's seen as something "cool".
