A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

Are you comfortable knowing that a boy’s/girl’s pet dog or cat has a role to play in a decision about you?

For example, if you go to their house to visit and the pet instinctively takes a dislike to you and thus the boy’s or girl’s family is now undecided about you?

This needs a meme.

I didn't know in western culutre you need to hug the dog as well, while greeting the family.

Btw which culture or society is this in ?

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

Out the door/my life. I don't have space for obsessive people in my life, thank-you :p.

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

I'd be ok with a dog having a say about me, but cats are a no no. Cats are evil and would reject you anyway. Cats can be such beeches.

Of course.

The Dog-in-law must like you. Otherwise everything is destined to fail.

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

he he

the rishta process is a family affair, family will be involved..so hard for people to understand

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

As weird as it might sound if my dog hated the guy I would back off straight away..

He gets on with most people so if he takes an instant dislike to a person alarm bells would start ringing in my head.. It's probably something only people with dogs would understand..

Re: A Dog’s/Cat’s decision about you?

I can imagine if things went wrong as they do with MiL etc, so how would Jeremy Kyle go about sorting this on his show. Do a lie detector.. woof once for yes and woof twice for no :omg:

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

What if your parents had an instant dislike for someone? Would your reaction have been the same?

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

I mentally nominated you for this post when this thread came into being. Glad you didn't disappoint.

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

^There aren't many ppl with dogs on here.. If trusting my dog is such a big deal for you that's your problem, not mine.. Some of you need to get out more and see the world.. there actually is one outside your family in Pakistan, you know..

Dogs have a sixth sense that people don't have.. They have amazing instinct and that's part of what makes them so good at doing jobs like helping the blind or disabled (as well as the obvious ease of training them).. They're very good at differentiating between who they can and can't trust, probably better than me or even my parents.. Again, it's not something that people who don't have dogs would understand..

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

the dislike would mean the pet has developed an insane crush on me and seeing me with the partner in the same house will make it jealous. So yes am comfortable

Re: A Dog's/Cat's decision about you?

Got no dog in this fight.
