What exactly constitutes a typical desi uncle (need specifics)? Is this trait inherited or is it acquired adaptation? What can a person do to avoid becoming one? How do you enjoy life afterwards? Where can you find someone who has escaped this phenomenon?

typical desi uncle is generally out of shape, generally not a sharp dresser, does not have an interest in current music or movies, does not have any hobbies of his own, is usually found at dinner parties at other uncle's homes where he discusses politics, religion and current affairs.
How does one avoid becoming one...by not losing himself in his new responsibilities, by keeping up with old friends and hobbies, sports and activities. By taking an interest in himself, his appearance and growth as he does of his family and his work.

desi uncle= staring at girls the age of their daughters in subways....initially to see if they somehow know them, realizing they dont, and then.......continuing to stare.

actually a lot depends on the wifey, couples usually grow to complement each other.....

maturity does not mean becoming boring, having no personal interests, lack of interest in personal upkeep, apperance etc.
There are some very mature and very vibrant and exciting ppl that I knowe, and there are some immature boring sods as well.

That’s a chichora uncle, not a desi uncle.
Desi uncles are those people who ‘let themselves go’ after shaadi, who sit around talking about politics as if they are experts and have no other interests than gossip and politics.

You haven't let yourself go Ashley. You have yet to develop a pot belly or any belly actually. So, there is still some hope. We will see your hashar after your shaadi, since according to skhan, your wife will either make or break you. :D

haha Mehnaz so true. The typical desi uncle cannot see his feet coz of his huge tond which is disproportionate to the rest of his body.

Desi man marries desi woman
Desi woman–out of love–prepares greasy food for desi man
Desi man starts to bulge around the waist line
Desi women gets pregnant and pops a couple of rugrats.
Desi man continues to bulge (he is not refused sex, so why should he get fit)
Desi woman, seeing fat husband, feels comfortable in the marriage and gives up
Now, Desi woman bulges ten fold (no exercise, bad diets)
Desi man transforms into desi uncle
Desi woman transforms into auntie
Desi auntie bulges up to gargantuan proportions (she is eating her own greasy good), and
As a result desi uncle turns into a chicora uncle who stares at skinny girls.
