typical desi uncle is generally out of shape, generally not a sharp dresser, does not have an interest in current music or movies, does not have any hobbies of his own, is usually found at dinner parties at other uncle’s homes where he discusses politics, religion and current affairs.

I agree with Mr. Fraudia. Guys shudn't feel like their life is over after they get married. It can still be exciting, enjoyable and as satisfying as it was before. Sure, some things will change due to more responsibilities etc. but u have to learn how to balance things and not forget who u r.

I hate these stereotypes about desis. It's not just desis. It's a choice u make, lots of ppl give up on themselves after marriage and kids. There r lots of desis who r still slim n fit after being married for several yrs and some kids too. And there r plenty of obese whites, blacks etc. who r married/divorced with kids. Perhaps yrs ago, a lot more desis in general were overweight (maybe due to them not being educated about health risks), thus called an "aunty" or "uncle" but these days couples r a lot more health concious and active, and continue to take care of themselves after starting a family.

I agree w/ Fraudia - some men just let themselves become house husbands and let themselves go. They come home, sit on the sofa, watch tv, listen to their wife gossip and get involved w/ nonsense family issues and the only current event they know is via CNN. Their idea of a vacation is going to Pak to visit family. Their idea of going out is going to a friend's house for tea and samosas.
