Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

The 23 cases are registered against High court judges - not judges of the Supreme court like Iftikhar. Now how come the Supreme Judicial Council has been unable to take care of these cases in all these years? It is the responsibility of the superior judges to tackle corruption amongst their own, yet how many cases have you heard of them ever doing so? Instead what do our superior judges do when private tv stations accuse them of corruption? They make them apologize and say sorry repeatedly for days on end.

Pakistan's leaders, politicians, businessmen, soldiers - all have been accused of corruption and high crimes, and faced cases. Have you ever wondered why our judges are never accused of such crimes? - especially when recent surveys have indicated that Pakistani people perceive judges as the most corrupt after the police and politicians. Maybe it has a lot do with the fact this CJSC - the boss of all judges in Pakistan, is as one newspaper called it accused of leading a "slaughterhouse" mentality against anyone questioning corrupt practices amongst the judiciary. This is a CJSC who summons newspaper editors to his chambers and warns them to lay off publishing stories about his son, and asking the Supreme Court as a whole to come to the defence of that na-laik son! Imagine if the President or PM summoned editors to the offices, and got the state to issue statements in support of their families. The outcry their would have been of how the govt was targetting the freedom of the media etc.

Re: A black day for Pakistan…

This is the kind of tolerance that some in our superior judiciary show to people filing references against them.

PbBC cancels Bokhari’s licence

LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) cancelled Advocate Naeem Bokhari’s practicing licence on Saturday and banned his entry to any bar association of the province for levelling allegations against suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Naeem Bokhari, also a famous television personality, wrote an open letter to Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on February 17 accusing him of failing in his duties as chief justice of the Supreme Court. The letter, which was widely circulated in Punjab official and social circles, accused him of using his office to favour his son, of being excessively fond of protocol, and of being rude to lawyers.

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Yes BUT...
the maulanas and the clergy and "ALL" the fanatically religious people in Pakistan are acting like b itch's in heat who have got religion so far down their throat that they cant take anything up the other side, which frustrates them more and more..... :(

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

CHARACTERLESS NATION!!!!

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

tsk .... tsk ...tsk

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Yup he has also violated the principle of seniority once again by promoting his favourites. Another violation of the supreme court.

Re: A black day for Pakistan…

Firstly, understand that it is not the judiciary that has cancelled Naeem Bukhari’s license, it is Bar coucil. Bar council consists of Lawyers and not judges.

What a crap of allegations are these, fond of protocol, who the hell is not fond of protocol in government itself? Does Mushy himself live like Khalifa Umer Bin Abdulaziz?

If the whole issue had been about getting rid of corruption in Judiciary, i wud have been very happy. However, the whole media, whose freedom seems tp be so dear to you, has been backing CJ. Look at editorials in all newspapers:

All have been lambasting Musharraf n this. You seem to be more concerned about media than media’s itself.

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Abhey dhakkan, what has this issue got to do with clergy?

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Musharraf essentially did that when he launched the coup

Then forced the PCO upon everyone and rewrote the 'constitution' to suit himself

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

so lets me get this down.

a not so good judge was kicked out in an incorrect manner.

..him being a lame judge does not warrant how he was removed
..and how and by whom he was removed does not make him a great civil servant

so while we talk about him doing good stuff... it seems like he was doing some not so good stuff either.

and one of the whistle blowers, who may or may not have played a part in this is now barred from practice and entering courts by lawyers..on what grounds? did he do something that was against the law or against the code of conduct for the bar?

so how do so many wrongs make any right?

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

what has this issue got to do with you I was responding to someone else.

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Nothing makes a right here, everything is wrong, and the sad part is that the masses are part of it.

I hope you watch Pakistani news, you should have seen what a demonstration the lawyers of Lahore staged. It would have made you sick...

I quote from something I have written...
"Coming back to the character of our nation, I was sickened to the stomach to see the reaction by lawyers in Lahore today, I could not hear the slogans they were chanting, but the only thing that drummed my ears were “We are the lawyers of Pakistan, tomorrow we will become judges, and day after we will abuse our position to have financial, political, and social gains, so No one dare disrespect us.

Re: A black day for Pakistan.....

Hahahhahahahaha...

** Right now Geo is broadcasting a news feed, that this specific issue will not be discussed in print, electronic, or online media. If anyone is seen doing it they will be held for "contempt of court" under article......" Azkar Watch out!!!!!!!!!**
PS: Now the Pakistani judiciary has become the "Corrupt Untouchables"
