Re: A better wife?
Coming from a Pakistani background, we all hear about horror stories but the fact is the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction in countries like the US. Women have way more power and they use it.

Re: A better wife?
Cheating is not allowed in islam by either men or women.
So does abuse so u can better judge where were are standing in our discussion.Unfortunately everyone is trying to pick and choose what ever fits best for them in any circumstances.......
Re: A better wife?
What is a feminazi, anyway? The most famous person who uses this word regularly is the honorable Rush Limbaugh. Those who use this term should from now be addressed as Mr/Ms Limbaugh.

There are feminists who are extremists. I think it would be fair to characterize them as feminazis. But this is off topic, and I don't want to start ranting on feminism.
I think the point I made above stands: women initiate the majority of divorces (I think it's around 70%) and abuse, and cheating are not cited as the reasons. It's usually a woman wanting to "find herself" and other emotional issues (yes I'm using the term again because it applies, read my link above). Women also stand to profit from divorce.
I would venture a guess and say that in a lot of these divorces, a little patience and willingness to work through the issue (from both sides) could have saved the marriage. In situations without abuse, and perhaps out of character cheating, I think she would be a "better" wife.
In cases of abuse, especially if it's serious, I think a divorce is absolutely warranted.
Re: A better wife?
^What do you mean by 'out of character cheating?'
Re: A better wife?
I don't think every cheater is a serial cheater. Sometimes people do make mistakes. I'd like to think I would be able to give my relationship a shot at reconciliation. Even if you need a trial separation, I think every effort should be made to fix the marriage before divorce is considered.
Maybe I'm being naive. I'm not married so I don't know.

Aight..i fully agree with this poster here. Don't know..i am sort of person who gives people benefit of doubt though or even if they have done something wrong. I do think everyone deserves second chance. But there ARE areas where there is no gray line for sure. However, in most cases though i ain't married either..i would try to give honey babe a chance.
Personally, i do sometimes think people talk about divorce as if it is just nothing. But to me, the MOST MoST hatable thing. Aight aight..enough with wisdoms and pearls..where my hukka at yo!
