I am surprised that many posters here are blaming the media for these kind of incidents. Every child is exposed to the same media and it is not as if these kind of incidents are common place.
It is just that people are more aware and these kind of incidents are coming to light. Nobody can deny that there is black sheep in every generation and it is only during this period that we see such kind of incidents being highlighted. People are getting more aware. Years back, child marriages were common and nobody knows what kind of torture the poor bride had to go through being married to people who were 3 or 4 times their age.
