Re: 78th Academy awards

“little known Jon Stewart” :hehe: Well maybe he is not well known outside of the US. That’s the only thing going for this otherwise really boring and predictable show as usual. I’ll try and catch the Jon Stewart jokes

Re: 78th Academy awards

I dont know why they gave it to Jon Stewart. I hope its not as bad as i think its going to be.

I hope Reese witherspoon and Joaquin Pheonix win. Supporting actor ofcourse, Clooney  Supporting actress, between amy adams and rachel weisz, whichever one wins, i’ll be happy.

I hope everything doesnt end up going to Brokeback mountain. I LOVE Heath ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal but no oscars for them this year :snooty:

Re: 78th Academy awards

Thats what I meant. Most people dont know him outside US. Well his jokes are predictable for sure :stuck_out_tongue:

Amber. I fear a clean sweep for Brokeback mountain :frowning:

Re: 78th Academy awards

little known? lol

Re: 78th Academy awards

CLOONEY WONN!!! :D :D :D

what a start to the show :p

AND Rachel Weisz WON :D

March of the penguins WON :p

its still going on :p

Jon Stewart is bein funny but I did missed the beginning of the show so i dont know what he said when he first came on stage

Re: 78th Academy awards

Just now Brokeback Mountain won the award for original score. Well deserved.

Re: 78th Academy awards

Ben Stiller was horribly unfunny.

Re: 78th Academy awards

The lifetime achievement award presentation was hilarious :D :D

Re: 78th Academy awards

not to mention those lobbying ads are just ridiculous....

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon looked lovely. :Pretty:

Re: 78th Academy awards

I was rooting for George Abdullah Clooney and Rachel Nabeela Weisz and am happy to see them win! Saw Peter Jackson team take a few awards for King Kong -- some of them are from LOTR team.

Stewart is an awkward host, he is trying hard. Billy Crystall is a unfunny actor but a good oscar host.

Re: 78th Academy awards

The whole friggin show is boring and unfunny. Even their music is a swift cure for insomnia.

Dolly Parton has had too many collagen shots.

Re: 78th Academy awards

GhareeboN ke paas TV nahi hai :teary3:

Rachel Weisz - :k: Good for her, I had enjoyed The Constant Gardner.

Re: 78th Academy awards

Best actress: Reese Witherspoon.. well deserved!

gosh, her speech was long though

Re: 78th Academy awards

true that… totally deserved it… Go Reese..

She is like Kajol of bollywood..

on a cynical note… she was trying to cry on purpose in her speech. nonetheless, it was good; she got to say all she wanted to at the peak of her career. well done :k:

Re: 78th Academy awards

Go Reese Go Reese! Her speech was long but it was really coherent, I liked it!

Best Screenplay - Broke Back Mountain

Best Writer - Crash!

Best Director - Ang Lee
like that was a surprise

One more left!

Re: 78th Academy awards

Best Picture: Crash

I should have asked for something else :sigh:

Re: 78th Academy awards

CRASH - Best Picture of the Year!!

Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks and Dustin Hoffman were a good surprise!

So does anybody know how Jon Stewart started the show?
I liked the whole actors lobbying for the oscar skits that he had. Other than that it was pretty ordinary.

Re: 78th Academy awards

The dude was absolutely HILARIOUS :omg: only speilberg did not find him funny.

I had said before the Oscars started that I’d be surprised if Crash won and I am really surprised in a good way of course! :k:
Good to see Reese and Phillip win the best actor/actress nod. Clooney was funny

Re: 78th Academy awards

yep! so were the lobbying ads.
As far as JOn goes - either you like him or you don't. And I like his sense of humor.
