Pakistani Media is more free than Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Italy, India and China.
We openly criticize the government, its leader. You can't do that in any other country.
And besides, Pakistanis have now had a feel of open criticism of their leaders and if the government tries to block the media, the people will rebel like they they did after the MQM terrorists killed innocent protesters or when GEO office was raided.
Pakistan has a free media, no internet sites are blocked, people only hold rallies against the governmnet....
I mean what more do you want?
Change won't happen over night.
But compare the days of 1998 when Nawaz was running the country with 2 channels to today where there will be 75 channels, its a major achievement..

Fact:
Proves my point I made earlier in the thread. Media is free only as long as it keeps itself busy in things that do not come in way of government in general and Musharraf in particular.

Yea, media is free as long it doesn’t criticizes government. BTW, govt just knocked GEO, ARY and AAJ off the air today. Police throughly beat up journalists who were pissed off and end up beating Tariq Azeem. Shokut Aziz got away or they would mobbed him too. One of the journalist was ran over by the Pervez Elhi’s lemo. It was so funny. I saw the whole drama on Aaj TV online.

AAJ is available on www.jumptv.com. The reason you couldn't see it b/c govt blocked it on cable.

Some people keep blaming anti-Mush people to suffer from being selective i.e believe in courts for anti-govt verdict and question freedom of judiciary for pro-govt verdicts… this guy is doing nothing different, if Imran Khan today gave an anti-Mush statement suddenly Imran Khan would be considered trash and not worthy at all.
