Looking to buy a 7-seater SUV as my minivan is getting old and may soon have to retire. I have looked at other minivans as well but nothing is “clicking” as of now.
So far, the Cadillac Escalade and Audi Q7 SUVs have caught my fancy.
The Audi gives better gas mileage and is cheaper, but the Cadillac has a V8 engine while the Audi has a V6. Also, the Cadillac gives more legroom and storage than the Audi but you’ll be making fewer stops to the gas station. They both have the same turning radius so getting in and out of tight spots will require the same maneuvering.
The Escalade is based on the Suburban which is tried, tested & true so you cant go wrong if you go Chevy.
Audi OTOH puts attention to detail and there's probably all kinds of nifty touches which will definitely make you smile every time you get in it.
But to be honest if you're planning on loading up the car (persons and cargo) and especially if you plan on getting it for long drives then the Caddy's V8 is probably a better option overall, Oh, wait, what about the Tauraeg, didnt VW put a V10 diesel in it? Isnt that powerplant available in the Audi?
It is pretty old styled.....so the wow factor is not there....but Acura MDX is stylish, fun to drive and really comfortable with excellent resale value....:)

Dont know about Escalade , but Q7 is not a full time 7 seat car it bit of choice of two extra seats or the boot and these 2 seats are best for kids, an adult will have problem specially if its a long journey. Sharing a personal experience. Its a good car to drive and take it anywhere but part time 7 seater
Are you looking for a full time 7 seater or a part-timer / punishment for TLK to sit in the back kind? Pilot is good (V6 and good transmission) but from what I have read, the leg room is a little less. For a full time 7 seater, you need a full-size SUV like ones people have mentioned. I would mention Dodge Durango as well (great room, good material etc) if it weren’t for that terrible 9 speed transmission that the italians have put in.
How do you guys like it? I have heard good things about lincoln but owning american cars have put a big dent in my confidence in going for american cars the next time…
