**These pictures are from the book “17 September Days” by Aziz Baig. Liberty Printing Press: 1965. He was a journalist and served as the editor of Dawn. This book was much praised for it’s factual contents. No wonder a search on google with his name takes you to an Indian customs page, telling ppl that import of his book “Captive Kashmir” into India is not allowed!!!
BTW, my father served as the Proof Reader on this project. He’s got a copy of Captive Kashmir too!**

Wow, pictures from this era are totally cool. If more could post pictures of old Pakistan and India it would be just great. Despite short wars, the era must have been special. Thanks, PK99. Good job!

Ha HA.
This is great.
According to your own sources,
India held 240 sqkm in the Lahore-Sialkot sector vs 77sqkm by Pakistan.

From your own sources:
BBC says:
Pak started the war.
Even according to Pakistani claims, Pak’s “capture” included 1,200 miles of desert wasteland
http://www.defencejournal.com/april98/wayitwas3.htm
**Kuru and Majnun posts in Kargil, Kontal, Danna, Ali Koh and Pir Sabah in the Tithwal area and the Haji Pir Pass were captured by the Indians.
By the thirteenth of August it had become clear that Operation Gibraltar was doomed to end in a fiasco and would have serious national and international repercussions. When Haji Pir Pass was lost the possibility of recapturing it was considered but had to be given up because the climb was too steep from our side**
India had the strategic Haji Pir, Tithwal and according to your own book, we had 240 sqkm in the Lahore-Sialkot sector vs 77 sqkm under Pakistan.
So, you guys wanted to capture Kashmir, but ended up losing land in Lahore.
So who won?
