Eight American troops have been killed and four wounded in a car bombing in Iraq, the US military reports.
The attack took place in Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad, at about 1130 local time (0730GMT).
Thursday also saw two US soldiers killed in two separate attacks in Baghdad and the surrounding area.
More than 120 US troops have been killed in Iraq this month - the bloodiest for American forces since the fall of Saddam Hussein.
Actually, that number has now gone upto 10, as the American’s retreat from Falluja.

Between March 20 when Iraq was attacked and 1 May 2003, when Bush declared “victory” only 117 soldiers had been killed. Yet in the month of April 2004 alone, 141 occupation soldiers have been killed, and some one thousand injured. This month has been far more bloody for the American’s than the war itself, and this time they are fleeing under fire from Falluja and elsewhere as well.
