Sure they did a noble thing … they perhaps felt the need to get this help in their efforts for removing caste discrimination. On the other hand India has taken a number of measures to right from start in 1947 agaisnt caste based discrimination.
Just to cite an example … there have been instances of racial discrimination in US … but surely you won’t term US as a racist country !!!
