The players have taken drinks. When was the last time you saw a run-rate of two after 17 overs, South Africa have strangled India and taken two wickets too. Tendulkar has 11 off 47, he's really struggled to find the gaps and hasn't timed his shots well either, he's fighting it out though.

Indian batsmen have already been exposed against bouncy pitches @ Karachi in the last test series against Pakistan in Pakistan. So this dismal performance in South Africa comes as very little surprise.
And i thought we pakistanis were the only flat track bullies.
Re: 5th ODI: South Africa v India at Centurion, Dec 3, 2006
Pakistanis are not flat track bullies. The thing is Indian batsmen, excluding Dravid, are mostly situational players. You give them a situation that suits them and they will perform. That is how Ganguly won games and took them to WC final. There were far more deserving teams than India that should have been in final with respect to overall talent and number of veterns but his captaincy made the difference.
These are the same wickets where Sehwag and Tendulkar use to kill bowling attacks, right now they can not stay together until 10. These are the same tracks where Indian batting line up looked world beaters, very few teams could get them all out, now it is just a walk in the park.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Apart from Inzi and the two Y's, Pakistan's batsmen usu. do not fare well on bouncy or pacy tracks. Let's not forget what happened to us on a relatively benign Indian pitch against SA in CT. Malik is a failure outside the subcontinent, Hafeez is relatively inexperienced and the less said about Farhat the better. His reckless technique won't work at all in SA. Akmal also struggled in England and Razzaq performs only once in a blue moon.
