Re: 5th ODI: South Africa v India at Centurion, Dec 3, 2006
It is interesting that you bring SA vs Pak at CT when we had their top 5 batsmen in dressing room with our second string bowlers. What do you think of their batsmen? Only two batsmen played inngs and that is how the match was decided and Pakistan had to face nitini and pollack. Do you think that those two would have made similar runs if Akhtar and Asif were present?
Akmal is new, he had a fresh career. Wait and see, he can perform in bouncy tracks, home and overseas. Razzaq has made many big inngs overseas hitting big bowlers and Malik, altough i do not like him in test, very good ODI player.

I don't need to say much, the record of the two South Asian 'giants' against South Africa says it all. Yes with Akhtar and Asif we might have restricted them to < 200 but they might still have bowled us out for 100-150. In crunch/knock out matches against Australia and SA, it's often the batting of Pakistan/India that lets the team down.

Indian batsmen have already been exposed against bouncy pitches @ Karachi in the last test series against Pakistan in Pakistan. So this dismal performance in South Africa comes as very little surprise.
And i thought we pakistanis were the only flat track bullies./quote]
