^ This tour has been a disaster; not so much because of our performance (exception: last day of test 3) but because of the stupid decisions (or non-decisions) of the umpires. Agreed that ECB has nothing to do with it but we still have to make a point. We can always re-schedule the ODI's.
I wish Sheharyar Khan had NOT TAKEN a U-TURN, and had forfeited instead of merely pretending a delay. We should have either continued playing, or forfeited, but not engage in a confusing delay which has diverted attention from Hair's baseless accusation to Hair's calling off the match.
We wanted the attention on the ball tampering evidence, not the calling off. The headlines on all news channel should have been ' Pakistan forfeits in protests to ball-tampering accusations' and NOT 'Match state unclear as officials work out a solution to save the game'.
I think there should always be a standby umpire to replace the regular one when he is not doing well...
In future...Pakistan should consider beforehand the appointed umpires...their track record professionally and ethically etc...
Warning to the ICC:Pakistan should give an advance warning to the ICC that anything happens unfairly...the match or the whole series will be dumped recklessly...hardened...hmmm
The first step to mitigate the factors that led to this debacle would be to fire Sheryar Khan...and appoint somobody with a bit of background in cricket and has a track record for no non-sense...
Just saw Score on Geo with Amir Sohail, who related a incident when West Indies toured Pakistan back in the 90s...Lance Gibbs their manager took the ball Pakistan were bowling with and showed it to Match refree and PCB's then secretary Arif Ali Abbasi, claiming that the ball had been tempered with. Abbassi instead of apologizing profusely, as Sheryar so invariably does, asked the umpires to produce the balls that windies used in their innings...It turned out that ball was even more scruffed up then the Pakistani ball, which in Pakistan due to the rough pitches and ground happens by default....
Abbassi did not leave the matter at that...he in fact filed a counter protest accusing the windies of ball tampering...Needless to say, Lance Gibbs had to profusely apologize to Abbassi and the matter was forgotten..
We need somebody who is shrewed, has the cricketing knowledge and astuteness to handle these situation...an ex-diplomate, whose modus ope***** throughout his life and career as well through progeny has been to appease, apologize and enable foreigners does not quite fit the bill....
That is not tampering. Asif Iqbal is just shining the ball like all players do, just like one of the spokepersons mentioned.
If Asif was tampering the ball, why would he do it 3 feet away from the Umpire, while the umpire is looking at him? And, if the umpire claims that to be the tampering incident, why didn’t he stop the players & accuse them, at that very moment?
Not just Sheryar, that platinum headed, crazy mad scientist clone, Zaidi, who also happens to be Sheryar's crony from the foreign office days and board's scretary in the latest capacity, what the hell is he doing there along with his mrs...
Then there is Dr. Nasim Ashraf, federal minster for human development and few other board "officials", what the frick are they doing in England..
Sheryar goes abroad to watch every series, this is unprecedent not just in Pak cricket, but in the history of cricket...What business does he have touring with the team...

This is absolutely ridicolous and corrupt...what we need in a touring team: the team squad, manager or coach, physio and not the rest of the whole crap...

Not sure what Dr Nasim Ashraf is in the UK for - most probably he is on a private or other business and happens to be watching this match. We should excuse him.
However, people like the PCB chairmain and his puppets like Zaidi - touring the UK on all expenses paid trip most likely paid by the PCB.
I do appreciate that often the board officials from other countries do travel overseas to watch some games but do they go for the entire series?
Who is accountable for all these unnecessary trips overseas? The money spent on these VIP's can be be better spent else where i.e. improve the basic facilities in the country.
There were serious mistakes made by Inzamam and Pakistan management in handling this issue. Inzamam should have protested when Darrel Hair decided to change the ball and asked him to pin point the player that he accuses have alter the ball. That moment passed and game resumed where it clearly showed that the old ball was in our advantage and taken out for no good reason. After tea, it was wise that team did not came back on the field but Sheryaar interview and than Inzamam coming back in to the field ruined it for us. That was a bad decision as they are now calling Pakistan who have acted childish and tried to forfeit the game. Well, they will say and now it is time for PCB to present the case of now or never for Darrel Hair. I do not think any Pakistani cares about this match unless these allegations cleared out; we want to know the truth and that from Darrel Hair. This should be the main premises for Pakistan otherwise; it is really stupid and humiliating to play any more games. I hope this is it for Darrel and Billy Doctrove, because they ruined the series for us miserably. ICC will take umpire’s side, unless they pressured and that pressure should come from PCB. If they try to be too much diplomatic, I am afraid we might loose the focus of this controversy.
Darel Hair may have been too afraid to continue in case Inzi comes out with a bat and starts beating him up with it...LOL. This is what he bloody deserves.
