This is pure BS the way Tauffy was treated. The poor guy should never have been recalled if he was only going to be given 1 game. It clearly shows where the decision makers stand right now :)
Sending Samiullah Niazi back to Pakistan without giving him a chance at international level was again one of the decisions you never know an answer to.

I think final team will be:
1. Hafeez/Afridi
2. Farhat
3. Younis
4. Yousaf
5. Inzi
6. Razzaq
7. Akmal
8. Sami
9. Gul
10. Nazir
11. Danish
This way Bob will get his 4 seamers (Razi, Gul, Sami and Nazir) and also two spinners (Danish & Hafeez/afridi). Hafeez chances are more since he will give an offspinner thus more variety.

I thought Niazi performed well during the West Indies A game? I mean, it wouldn’t hurt to give the guy a chance, would it? Could he really be any worse than Mohammad Sami?
I’m disappointed that he was sent back.
What sucks the most is that Shahid Nazir really stepped it up when needed and he showed that he has legitimate skills. On any other team, his performance would -at least- solidify a temp spot. He needs and deserves to be in our second-tier bowling rotation, rather than Mohammad Sami and Arshad Khan

I feel sorry for Taufeeq Umar as well. Poor guy comes in for ONE series after a long hiatus, and he did reasonable in my opinion… I mean, how the hell can you judge someone based on ONE performance?
I wouldn’t have objected to them deporting him if he’d failed at least 2 or 3 times. What are these people smoking ??

Asif may play or not, but Sami will most definitely play.
Inzi says Asif has been playing well the last couple of years.... well, the poor lad has only been in the team for less than a year. He debuted less than 2 years ago and was dumped for a year. Don't know where Inzi gets his facts.

I think Asif will be included at the cost of Nazir. I also see Razzaq coming in for Faisal, as a back up for Asif if he breaks down.

Very plausible and realistic, but logic would say to replace razzaq for sami and afridi for iqbal.
at least afridi will provide 3 to 4 more runs than iqbal and can be a legitimate threat on the bowling end.
Too bad we'll end up watching Sami dig his own grave while we curse at the TV screens.

Apparently Pakistan want to play 6 Specialist Batsmen, 3 Fast bowlers & Kaneria.
So Faisal Iqbal is lucky that he’ll play, although I believe probably Azhar Mahmood should have been given a chance instead since he is familiar with Engilish condition and bowls as well, open the bowling for Surrey.
I hope Asif replaces Sami tomorrow and Nazir & Gul both play.

Azhar :) that shows ur knowledge of the game, he is a spent force and not an international level player anymore. He can do wonders in county still.
Faisal (or whoever emerges in next 7 months) will be our replacement for Inzimam. Its time to groom someone for No. 5 now before its too late. There seems to be nobody to shoulder the huge load team is going face next year. We need to give future No. 5 confidence and a long run to play b/w the big three batsmen. What else could be a better time to let the young boy flourish than the last test when ur already lost the series and yet experimenting with Hafeez and Asif. Why not Faisal, bhai ?

Yeah, why don't they think of Azhar. he would be much better than some others in the team.
I guess, they've made their decision about giving a chance to Hafeez. I'll prefer Afridi instead.

regardless of the baselessness of this match, i am still looking forward to watching mohammad asif bowl. :)
