Niazi sent home? wtf man... stupid idiots... Sami should've been the one to be sent home.
In any case, based on the players who've played for us so far, this would be my team:
Hafeez / Farhat
Afridi
Younis
Yousaf
Inzimam
Akmal
Razzaq
Gul
Nazir
Kaneria
Here are my reasons:
- With the three of them, Gul, Nazir and Razzaq should be able to provide the pace (still much to be desired in this dept. though);
- With the openers failing consistently, we're not losing much by introducing Afridi to open... tikk geya tow tikk geya - nahi tow he'll still be useful in the spin dept.
- Iqbal hasn't done much, so with Razzler, again, we won't lose anything but rather gain in the pace dept.

Mr. Afridi786: I will disagree with comment, ineffective trio, if you look at the third test proceedings, in fact they were effective, unfortunately in crucial stages either Umpire reprieved or our fielders along with Akmal with iron gloves let them down.
Imagine: if umpire were giving Peterson and Cook out, I don't think ENG could have scored 500+ if they were 72 for 4, similarly in second innings if Akmal was holding on to Trescothic catches when England was 22, and then Butt was holding on to Strauss catch, I don't think if ENG could have scored 300+ without opening stand of 160 and 116 from Strauss. In all these scenerios I think once PAK brought in 3 regular seamers in Sami, Gul and Nazir for fourth test, they effectively bowled, but unfortunately Umpires, Pakistani fielding and unfortunate runs out of Younis in first innings and Yousaf in second innings along with acrobatic leopard fall on wicket cost Pakistan a match and thus a series.

Afridi786 mian, girtay hain shehsawar hi maidan-e-jang mein. But our openers have been khar-sawar so far.
Now biggest challenge for Woolmar is to get the opening problem straight, with or without Malik doesn't matter. But this is a long time problem for Pak and if Woolmar fixes this before his departure, he will be remembered for this for a long time.

You are kidding me. Salman Butt is sent home while his partner-in-crime is left in the bushes alone? If anything, I would rather send Imran Farhat home than this circumstance. Not because either one of them have done anything in particular to write home about, but including Farhat in the team, it is likely he will stand in the same old pothole as before and spill chances like they are going out of fashion. I would support him over Butt if either he rectifies the butter on his fingers or that clueless Inzamam manages to see right through it and put him somewhere where he is comfortable with.
Samiullah Niazi has been sent back? That street trash is still lingering in the camp? Lightning has struck twice in less than a week.

Butt and Taufeeq quite rightly sent home. Butt should never have been selected for the tour.

According to Woolmer, both Rana and Asif looked good in the nets, so both could be in contention for the Test. It is pretty much a guarantee that Sami will not be replaced, rather Gul or Nazir or both will have to sit out.

Mirza Iqbal Baig on Indus TV said that in the press conf Woolmer said that the new pair Hafeez/Imran will open, and Hafeez will be used for spin bowling also, he wants 4 pacers in the match, Aisf was looking good, but Rana is having troubles, Inzi was in nets pratice for little time and Mr. Shoaib has got a pimple on his hip or back so he is ruled out, the final 11 will look this:

Even Taufeeq shouldn't have been recalled but poor kid was brought in and sent back only after 1 game, I think similar injustice has been done to him before as well. If he was recalled he should've played atleast 2 games if not continued for next series. This is not going to help develop any opener at all (not specifically about Taufeeq as he was mediocre even when recalled).

Don’t put Mohammad Asif in your squads till we see him in the 11 member squad on thursday after the toss:bummer:
Seriously I am sick and tired of management and their Mohammad Asif game. Before the start of the first test, he was our premier bowler since rana and shoaib were already out. Then we heard that he was out from the first test. Few days later we heard that he has a 50% chance of playing the first test. Later he didn’t play the first test. Management said that he will play the 2nd test. He didn’t play the 2nd test either and then we heard that he is flying back home. Then he regained fitness in Pakistan and PCB announced that he is going to play the Oval test. Few days later PCB said that he won’t play the Oval test. Then again after few more days they said that yes he will play the Oval test.

Did you guys read on Cricinfo that the following people have been sent back to Pakistan to make room for Hafeez, Asif & Rana.
1) Salman Butt
2) Taufeeq Umar
3) Samiullah Niazi.
Basically, the fight in the final spot will be between Nazir & Razzak.
Afridi will not play this game for sure, Faisal will be given his last chance.
Sami & Kaneria will not be replaced, Umar Gul has cemented his place...
So its a coin toss between Nazir & Razzak. The way Nazir bowled, I'd like to seem him with another chance to prove himself becase when Rana, Asif & Shoaib are back, he'll never make it to the side.
