4Sept Hijab Day!

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

I didn't even get a glimpse of the gals face and I wan't staring, just caught a glimpse. Just saying that pink looked good.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

They are your Mehrams.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

you're asking about hijab making women less attractive, then you're asking men to lower their gaze :S confused much.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

Our very own Jamat-e-Islami, who else. :nahi:

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

Black hijabs should be outlawed in places where summers get extreme. Black absorbs heat through radiation the most, basic science.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

buhahaha

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

well u surprised me:)i meant does women think that by wearing hijab they will look less attractive i think i was clear enough…Islam not only rescrict women but also men to lower their gaze, the responsibility is on both sides that was i meant:chai:
Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allâh is All-Aware of what they do.
And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like palms of hands or one eye or both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband’s fathers, their sons, their husband’s sons, their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islâm), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful. " ( Surah An Noor, ayah 30)

Surah An-Nur: “Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest.” (An-Nur: 30-31)In a hadith, the Prophet (saww) is reported as having said: “And the eyes commit zina (adultery). Their zina is gazing.”
He (saww) commanded Ali (as) said: “Ali! Do not look once after another, for the first look is for you (since it happens accidentally) while the second is against you.”

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

yes they r but we should cover to some extent...

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

well seriously i diden’t knew that who invented it,but i find no offence in it…it will highlight the importance of Hijab that’s it…

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

sis as i said that Hijab should be inside first then out side one who don wear Hijab dosent mean that they r not gud Muslim..:)

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

Happy Hijabi Day.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

I don’t see anything wrong in celebrating such a day. Hijab/headscarf/abaya is unfortunately becoming more of a symbol associated with extremist views, narrow mindedness or a sign of oppression for women these days in the west and generally around the whole world.

Though I don’t wear hijab myself (I admit it’s a weakness in my part …a big one) but I reallly look up to those who do cover their heads properly out of their own will and especially during such times where everybody looks at them and come up with a million different assumptions about their personality and modesty! I admire them for having the courage which I unfortunately still don’t have. :bummer: and kudos to them !

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

I don't wear it cos I wouldn't feel comfortable in it.. it's as simple as that..

I have nothing against hijabis (or those who wear niqaab), good for them.. Only someone v.ignorant would think wearing hijab makes a person backward..

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

I try not to judge (in a good or bad way) someone by their looks/clothes. As simple as that.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

Good for hijabis, but I dont get the point of creating Hijab day? whats new, Jewish hat day? Nun day? Why make someone personal preference of dressing up a day of celebration? But then again I'm just saying. People are coming up with too many days to celebrate.
Anywho, My take on Hijab? Good for you if you know what you are doing, why and are doing it with your best ability. I don't wear hijab, I don't find it obligatory as long as I dress in modesty.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

They chose to live in those countries when they have an option to leave with dignity. It’s their country their rules, don’t like the rules, can’t follow them, simply leave. If we are not okay with women wearing a 2 piece in our countries, why do we want our rights to how we dress in their countries then?

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

^^

Hijab is not merely "someone personal preference of dressing up", it is rather a depiction of a way of life style where modesty in dressing up may not complete without covering the head. Celebrating it as a "day" have potential to encourage border line cases that need an external force to identify with their seemingly week intention to join the ranks.

If you are doing Hijab without knowing it may lead you to know why you are doing it one day.

Please encourage those who can be discouraged by one negative word, one misrepresentation and one word of mockery.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

**1- **Hijab is actually someone's personal preference of dressing up, according to relgion or society , security etc.. Atleast to me. There is also a nudist day some people celebrate, whats your take on that? Do you not agree its pointless for people to celebrate how they dress or undress, and making it a public day? Hey, they just might encourage people on borderline of freeing their body of clothes. Why discourage them then?
Exactly my point. Might as well make beard a day of celebration. Or a Turban day! yoho more reasons to celebrate.

**2) **If a person is doing hijab without knowing why, what makes you think that person will want to know why they are doing something when they never bothered researching before they did it?
I'm in no sense discouraging anyone, but If someone can be discouraged that easily then their belief in what they're doing is simply not strong enough to begin with.

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

1) The word "merely" does't deny an argument but adds to the its meaning, in this backdrop I did accept your argument about Hijab being a personal choice, yet my addition is as solid as your argument.

2) Good and bad can not have same meaning and can not be measured with the same yard stick. The devilish cruelty in the right to "undress" can not be compared with the intention to cover yourself. Indeed, good and evil both have impact and indeed there are borderline cases on each side, but question is who to side with?

3) It all depends on the intention, good things instill ,upon those who has the intention to know and learn, the blessings of Allah, there are many upon many examples that people started a good deed not knowing the real meaning yet ended up knowing about it more than one would ever expect from them.

And above all our faith teaches us to encourage "good" and discourage "bad".

Re: 4Sept Hijab Day!

As far as I don’t look Pakistani when I wear head scarf and people think I am an Arab, :hehe: who cares about the rest? :rotato: I am so confident as I am the only Muslim girl with the head scarf in my IT field and when me and other 3 girls with head scarf are there in the lecture room of 200 people. It makes me feel special, doesn’t it?
