Its not really respect. He is bowling at a line whihc is impossible to score off quickly unless you are Afridi or Razzaq.
He is doing the trick for India though.

you see the indian bowler’s strategy is to bowl on the leg stump, at this point a combo of left and right handed batsmen at the crease would throw the bowlers off their rhythm
