3rd test pk tour of s/a

Pk made 3 changes. Shadab n faheem in . Hassan Ali in place of afridi. I believe he was not fully fit
S/A batting already Abbas got wicket but over all looks good wicket once early swing is gone. Looks a 300 wicket for pk

look at comments. he must be a sarfraz hater, infact jealous of his performance.
Hanzaq: “Sarfaraz continuing his merry way of changing bowlers at wrong times, Amir just bowled 4 over opening spell and taken off like he wasn’t getting the ball to talk (when he was) and replaced by “smashed all round the park” Hasan Ali…really hope he leaves test captaincy, no patience whatsoever…and then he blames bowlers after”

Another catch dropped in Amir’s first few overs :frowning:

I sincerely hope they dont try Shan Masood as a opener. He is the only pick of the hopeless batting lineup. Just dont destroy him by switching positions.

5 Catches haul by Sarfraz. Take a bow Captain!

  • Sarfraz Ahmed’s 5 catches is a new record for a Pakistan wicketkeeper v South Africa beating Moin Khan’s 4 catches at The Wanderers on 20 January 1995

  • Also, Today is the FOURTH time that Sarfraz Ahmed has hold on to 5 catches in a test innings, most often by an Asian Wicket-keeper (jointly with MS Dhoni).

lol

Wonder why was sarfraz not able to catch that many in last tests

As I wrote earlier wicket is not difficult compare to first two matches. We only need to get through first 30 overs of the new ball n than play positively to score fast. Sa bowlers will not get that reverse swing which our medium pacers r getting. Hopefully another good ton from asad babar n sarfraz.
faheem ashraf if delivers will be key to our team balance as all rounder.
Amir does not looks coming back . He really was bowling beautifully

Azhar Ali can’t bat even like Abbas? The ball Azhar got out on was easily left by Abbas, why couldn’t Azhar do that?

Nice partnership by sarfraz n azam. Going at 7 runs an over. Hope they continue till new ball available.
As I said earlier wicket is good to bat once ball is old. N most probably SA not going to get the reverse as pk had

This partnership very much like counter punch by a boxer going down.

And sarfraz gone just when SA were feeling scared. Silly shot. Shud have left the ball easily.
it’s now up to the duo of shadab n faheem how much they support babar. Once the new ball cones will be very tough

Babar out on silly shot as well, he didn’t like to play with new partners and Faheem didn’t want to play as batsman and threw away wicket first ball.

what to say about asad shafiq . hte way he got out is very childish like

Once again Pakistani batsmen all out on a very low score, below 200 right when they were actually in a position when they could have stayed on wicket and taken a lead.
But considering 2/6, they could have got out under 100 as well.

Another 50 by Sarfraz.

Now SA lost wickets early in 2nd but they have a very dangerous duo on crease. The lead can easily stretch to 300.

The only way I see Pakistan winning is if every batsman score 50+ in 2nd inning. No way possible considering Pakistani track of batting 4th

LOL, what do you expect from these club level bunch of mediocres? Their stamina doesn’t go beyond T20 level competition and that too on the dead dusty bowls of UAE. A random win here & there and they start acting like world beaters. EVen if they pull a miracle in their second innings, series is already gone.

Makhaya Ntini “the Pakistani batsmen are playing for themselves instead of playing for the team. They know that if they score 50 they will still be in the team and cant be dropped because they scored 50 instead of thinking where can they take the team”

target of 382 for PK. No way it cannot be chased. Only thing is to cope early 20 overs with out wicket. every one chip in with 60s …
10 catches for Sarfaraz . good to be in the list of top few. BTW almost all catches were very very simple . Even than it does make it good to catch all of tehm. If there was a kamran akmal he must have missed 2 atleast.

Good opening stand. These batters r mentally not strong to go for longer innings.
stroke play is good though. Let’s hope this match make shariq to a level higher where he can be. Let’s hope he goes the way he went in Australia to reach 450 in 4th innings. He has great company in azam.

From Cricinfo:

**Another slight peculiarity of the day was legspinner Shadab Khan, who had enjoyed turn since day one, not being called upon until the 34th over of the day. He sent down just under five overs, but caused the batsmen the greatest discomfort during that time, taking two wickets, including de Kock’s. **
