The reason they have not offered the light is because Mark Waugh and Ponting is bowling. Any fast bowlers come on to bowl and they will be off.
End of day 2
**Pakistan 163/6
Hassan Raza not out 37
Saqlain not out 27
63 runs partnership so far**
anyway it was some good solid batting by the two (hassan raza and saqlain)....
though they showed some haste somewhere in the innings, the rest was mostly sensible....
hope they dont lose their head when they come back tomorrow morning....
I dont think they showed any haste out there… Well you got to look for score, you cannot just block block and block. Eventually you will get out to a good delievery!
I agree tat Hasan And Faisal can be dubbed as find of the series , though Faisal has failed after first test but he is bound to improve.
Imran Farhat looked good too, Atleast better then Imrn Nazir.
Only disappointment has been Misbah, he showed a lot of promise in one dayers. Now he has lost the plot here somewhat. Anyways lets hope they can save the follow-on and minimize Austraila’s lead to as low as possible…
I sincerely hope Hasan gets a century thoug its too much to ask for this early in his innings.
Well this batting line up will be pretty settled after Saeed Inziman and YoYo are back along with Younis, Hasan, Faisal, Misbah, Afridi,Razzaq
And Bowling will be as good as usual when Wasim, Shoaib, Waqar, Razzaq, Saqlain, Sami. I dont think we should lose heart. We can still be a pretty settled team. Its just the confidecne that is lacking!
Good luck Pakistan :k:
Bowling-wise, our spinners were disappointing today. Kaneria can produce some good deliveries but he doesn't know how to put them together for long enough to put a batsman under pressure.
Saqlain didn't look threatening either.
Batting was saved by some resistance down the order, but not much spirit shown sadly. Taufeeq looked uncertain with his footwork but he was out to a good one from Mcgrath which swung in late. Imran Farhat looks a bit of a dasher, but at least he showed some confidence which is a big plus. He should be preferred to Afridi because he has a better range of shots and is a left hander.
Younis Khan was out too cheaply and Misbah was out to lbw to an ordinairy ball from Bichel who is nothing more than a workhorse. That's twice Misbah has got out to this mediocre bowler which is a concern. He and Taufeeq need runs in the second innings.
Faisal was unlucky that he was out to a shocking decision. Bucknor the umpire was clearly affected by the Aussie appealing and after concerted pressure CRUMBLED and changed his mind. The point here is that even if Faisal had got a thin edge, an umpire should only give the batsman out if he is certain that he nicked it. Quite clearly Bucknor changed his mind showing his uncertainty and thus went against the ethics of umpiring which was a big let down for all concerned.
Hasan Raza looked composed and purposeful unlike most of his team mates and we must hope that he can demonstrate how to focus and persevere for some time tomorrow as well. Vice captain Rashid latif is a prime example of what is wrong at the moment. Nice shots, plenty of ability, but absolutely no drive, fight or game plan.
In a nutshell, that's what's wrong with this team. We didn't get rolled over for 50s twice in a row for no reason. The once feared cornered tigers have become cornered hamsters. Faisal and raza have shown some of the fighting qualities we will need to get back our reputation - which we will.
Bring back Moin for a start, a player who has proven his steel in the toughest theatre and under the hottest pressure.
Wohoo! ![]()
Pakistan passed 60 runs.
Take that you old fart (Alan Border)
444 is alot better score than what we expected when they were 298 for 3 after day 1. Saqlain showing his batting skills, Hasan Raza showing his true colors as well, if they can stick for another 50, then Pakistan may avoid a follow on.
It was great bowling by Waqar, some days you see his old bowling, lets hope he bowls this way in next inning.
So Pakistan is still in the game!
Pakistan 163/6
Thats is almost a 200% improvement in Pakistan's batting performance :D
57+57+57 = ? :D
can pakistan try to draw this test match, so that they arnt defeted 3-0 once again by the australians, kab jeetenge apne Australia se???

MASHALLAH
ALLAH barkat de...
a interesting session is about to start...I guess the key is to survive the first hour - they should survive the follow on.
80 Runs to avoid follow on, anything else is a bonus.
**46.2 Bichel to Hasan Raza, no run, this time pushed to Ponting at
covers, yes, no, stop, go back! raza almost run out by a direct
hit, ball misses stumps narrowly
46.1 Bichel to Saqlain Mushtaq, one run, working up some pace here, just
outside the off, pushed to covers and goes through for a suicidal
single, Langer the fielder
**
Array bhaiyoan, zara smbhalkay.
yahooooooooooo
meri khawahish puri ho gayee…
50 overs up and pakistan still batting… ![]()
** 51.1 Warne to Hasan Raza, no run, ouch! Smack this one straight on
Langer's head, back of his head that is, the helmet saving him,
gets knocked out completely, is flat on his back now, getting
medical attention
Doesn't look good at all, one hopes all is well with Langer, his
mates all look very concerned. The physio is helping him out
Good news! Langer is back on his feet
He is walking off with the physio, getting a round of appluase from
the sparse crowd**
from cricinfo....
I must say Hasan and Saqlain are playing excellently!! i hope they first save the followon and then minimize the lead… WE can still have a good test match :k: Hasan Raza and Faisal Iqbal might have booked seats in Zim-Sa tours ![]()
Pakistan 191/7
Saqlain bowled Mc Grath 44
A very good partnership of 91 with Hassan Raza.
Well played Saqlain. He put some of the earlier batsmen to shame.
Waqar in.
Pity Saqy got out to such a dumb shot after palying so well.
hassan raza loses his partner.....
saqlain bowled by mcgrath on 44....
well played saqi....
hope the rest of the tail can support hassan....
Mcgrath dropped Waqar off his own bowling which would have been his 400th wicket.
Pakistan 198/8
Waqar LBW Mcgrath 6
** 400th wicket for Mcgrath. a landmark**
Follow on is creeping up.
