i would like to say few words about Inzi as a captain. i think he is the worst ever we have in terms of giving opportunity to youngsters. he has literally killed the opportunity to groom youngsters during his time. when you are in a position to win or draw the series why not try more youngsters. whats the rationale of trying niazi in odi where as his real test would be in test cricket. look how many youngsters were groomed and made into legends during imrans time.sad time for pakistan cricket as long as he is the captian

agree with you totally. Inzi's just way too defensive and negative, the goofiest captain we have ever had. I don't believe him for a moment when he says that he's never had a say in pitch preparation. I am pretty sure that he asked the groundsman to shave the Karachi pitch off the grass but that has been to no avail this season. He's averaging a handsome 14.75 (59 runs in 4 innings so far). Another failure and his test average will plummet below 50. He has strangely enough shown no interest in introducing Jamshed or Anwar Ali to international cricket

A captain will be willing to allow opportunities to youngsters, only if he feels his place as a player and captain is secure. At the age of 37, with yousaf in a blazing form and Younis (before this series) was showing the glimps of brilliance with bat, and as a captain, and then on top of that a change in the PCB top brass, put Inzi under pressure and already defensive Inzi went even more defensive.
Inzi is trying his level best to keep himself out of failure as a captain, since he knew one white wash in a home series, will end his career in present circumstances with out any mercy.
On other hand, Imran has the confidence, luxury in term of PCB support to groom youngsters, allow opportunities to any one he deemed necessary, and was willing to take risk. And all that allowed Pakistan to produce many good cricketers, such as Wasim, Waqar, Saeed, Basit, Salim Yousaf, Aaqib, Saqlain etc.

Look at Yousaf (strike rate 60+), for some period when Farhat and Younis were putting away the bad deliveries, all of a sudden pitch looked a batting paradise. It is not the pitch or bowlers that cause troubles for Pakistan, rather it is negative batting (blocking) that putting Pakistan under pressure and allowing bowlers to settle down and get into a rhythm.
I am sure tommorrow when Akmal will bat (if he stay there for 1-2 hours), the pitch will look extremely flat, since he will punish bad deliveries. since the end of Lahore test, Pakistan is playing for draw in the remaining series, which is a negative cricket.
Akmal makes the pitch look easy, Nazir made it looks tough. Look at Ramiz english comments 'Nazir didn't bother the stat and statistician"; guess he wana say "Nazir didn't bother the scorer"
