Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Hats off Mohammad Yousuf. He just keeps going and going...
masha'allah
although the day belonged to WI.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
** Mohammad Yousuf became only the third batsman to run up a streak of five hundreds in successive Tests.**
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Can we touch 275? Or 300? (wishful thinking)
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
3 of our batsmen out on 18 runs, Kamran Akmal is currently on 18, I hope he doesn't get out on 18 :D
Dismal performance with bat again, Inzi still struggling to get any runs, Razzaq still in blocking mode in first inning 7 runs off 50 balls.
I don't see us going beyond 325, while WI are likely to score 400+ again (I hope not).
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
oh yeah, great job Yousuf
… whether you break that record or not, you are our Viv Richard, hats off to ya :k:
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Look at the result of negative mind set of playing three alrounders and not allowing Yasir to open for Hafeez, and bringing in M. Sami or Sami Niazi for Razzaq. Once again Razzaq made a big impact with his patienate 7.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
The Karachi pitch has more in it for the bowlers so hopefully our bowlers would be able to restrict WI'ians for around 300.
Anybody remember the pak india match on this ground?
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Do you mean ODI? where Pakistan almost chased 350?
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
I mean the test match where we started off with 0 for 3
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
what a pathetic wicket this is..low uneven bounce...u can find wickets like that in slums in karachi.Playing extra batsmen has'nt made any difference to batting performance so far.razzq 7 off 52 balls what a pathetic effort
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Windies on top and yet AGAIN Yousuf is single handedly carrying the batting. While this is good for Yousuf, it certainly doesn't augur well for the rest of the team. Pakistan's batting for the past few years has always been dependent on one man: last year it was Inzi, this year it is Yousuf. The other batsmen have to step up if we are ever to be serious contenders in the test arena. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon, simply because there is no accountability for repeated failures.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Razzaq is not the issue here, dismal performance of Inzamam and Younis is bothering. They have to score runs so that Shoaib, Kamran and Razzaq can play the supporting part.
Meray Inzi ko nazar lag gai :(
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Inzi's body language is not great in this series. Yesterday it seemed like he wants ball to come on his bat, otherwise he will just hit as one would hit spider with a jhaaro in hand. This attitude will not earn his form back. He needs to go after the ball on merit. If the bounce is uneven and low unexpectedly, you need to be alert and keep your eyes on the ball when it hits the deck. Your shoulders and elbows need to be in adjustable position to reflect quickly on the unexpected bounce.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Like many experts were suggesting about the cracks on Gabba pitch that every batsman need to play a natural game, and hit the ball with merit, since they can't do anything about unexpected movement because of ball hitting the crack. Same could be applied to Karachi pitch too. If you play your natural game, and hit the ball with merit rather than blocking and building pressure on yourself, you could score.
Look at Yousaf (strike rate 60+), for some period when Farhat and Younis were putting away the bad deliveries, all of a sudden pitch looked a batting paradise. It is not the pitch or bowlers that cause troubles for Pakistan, rather it is negative batting (blocking) that putting Pakistan under pressure and allowing bowlers to settle down and get into a rhythm.
I am sure tommorrow when Akmal will bat (if he stay there for 1-2 hours), the pitch will look extremely flat, since he will punish bad deliveries. since the end of Lahore test, Pakistan is playing for draw in the remaining series, which is a negative cricket.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
:k:
thats right. He deserves something special from PCB like a special award or something. Hope PCB recognizes it
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
Very true. And I can’t understand why the heck Razzaq needs to play in 1st gear when he plays test. He should still be playing in 4th or 5th gear as his normal batting. He DOES NOT need to prove a point that he can bat in test as well. You are already picked for test so play your natural game. I wonder when Pak team will learn to play postive cricket.
Re: 3rd. Test @ Karachi on Nov. 27 PAK vs WI
^ when PCB starts playing positive administration. Untill give thanks to the circus we have and call cricket in Pakistan. We spoil our players by not grooming them and guiding them with the right discipline and mentoring. Even captains need that. and so does Razzaq and others who have a lot of talent. Really if we would compare teams based on GOD given talent, then we will be right there at no1. But we can't make the players into great dependable ones, becuase we let them go "run free as the wind..." . ......
