3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

GOOD LUCK PAKISTAN

It has been a while since I opened a thread for a test match…so here I am with a test match thread and that too for an India-Pak test match! Ya Allah Izzat Rikhna!

Pakistan has a lot of good memories from Bangalore (1987, 2005) and I truly hope that this ground will once again prove itself to be a lucky test venue for Pakistan…Rao will be replacing Sami, although Sami’s batting has been a big plus in this series…..zaheer and munaf are also out….and pathan is back!

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

ya good luck to shoaib akhtar .. hes off to bollywood.

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Pakistani batting, with the exception of misbah and akmal heroics, has been really pathetic against the indian bowling attack which was basically a 3 man attack (zaheer, kumble, and harbhajan).

Now even Zaheer is injured, we might have to resort back to agarkar, so if Pakistani batsmen dont perform well now, they never will...

I think its a great chance for pak to level series...

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

agarkar is not playing....it will be pathan and sharma

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Well strictly speaking it's not true. They did struggle in the first test but Misbah and Akmal batted superbly well in the first innings of the second test and the two Y's batted themselves into form in testing conditions in the second innings. Butt has had scores of 67 and 42 among other failures. So apart from Hameed (who should be dropped and Malik instead should open with Butt), Faisal (who will not play) and Malik really everyone-else seems to be finding their groove just at the right time.

Hope I did not speak too soon!!

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

The bowling if anything is a concern. Apart from Akhtar the rest have been unconvincing. Kaneria is impotent (and I don't mean medically)

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Agarkar is back in the probables list for Australia.

What can I say....is there anything left to be said anymore.

The dude has done absolutely nothing since being dropped to warrant this possible recall.

And there are plenty of budding bowlers in domestic cricket who are better than Agarkar ----- I am sick even talking about this.....the sight of the guy gives me nausea.

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Ishant Sharma is a CRAP bowler - and I have seen enough of him to arrive at this conclusion. I will take Ganguly's military-medium over 6 foot 3 Sharma's supposedly pace bowling. He has absolutely no variety.

I feel its better to play an extra spinner (Murli Karthik) instead of wasting a spot on Ishant Sharma.

So my bowling attack for the 3rd Test :'

Irfan Pathan
Gangu Teli
Kumble
Harbhajan
Murli Karthik

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

For some reason I think Agarkar for India still is much better than Sami for Pakistan. Count your blessings. Imagine if you had a Sami :)

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

YUP, there is no way kumble is going to play Ishant Sharma
i like murli a lot, i might even pick him ahead of harbhajan
we might have to go with 3 spinners on the basis of injuries

that leaves us with one medium-fast bowler in pathan hahaha
pathan is good for the one days when batsmen have to attack, but i dont know how effective he will be in tests but we have no choice

zaheer made our attack look decent, without him there are no pace bowlers and even he is a fast-medium bowler
agarkar will be on his 105th comeback

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Sami can bat my friend. He played a MAJOR role in Pak drawing the 2nd test. He was playing Kumble better than some of the top-order batsmen (e.g. Hameed)

On the other hand "all-rounder" Agarkar once scored SEVEN DUCKS in a ROW. (giving a new meaning to the phrase - "Having your ducks in a row")

I don't remember the last time when Agarkar played a decent innings in Test or ODIs.

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Why does the friggin selection committee keep going back to the tested-and-failed bowlers I don't know. Ishant Sharma was UTTERLY USELESS against BANGLADESH in a Test Match where RP Singh and Zaheer picked many wickets, How in the world do they expect him to be successful against Pakistan and Australia ? Heck even Joginder Sharma is better than this Sharma.

VRV Singh has got enough chances and has showed us absolutely nothing. He has a decent action and pace, but somehow he hardly picks up any wickets and always seems to go for too many runs.

I liked Praveen Kumar's bowling in the last ODI in Jaipur. He swings the ball bothways. Plus he is a decent batsman. But I see that he has been already forgotten.

Ranadeb Bose has not been given too many opportunities also.

Rain threat for Bangalore Test
The weather forecast for Bangalore on Saturday, the opening day of the Test, is heavy rain, with temperatures between 20 and 23 degrees celcius.
The Met department also says the city will experience showers on Sunday too, with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees celcius.
*There could be a serious problem with the light also, as Bangalore has been experiencing a weather change thanks to a trough of low depression off the Tamil Nadu coast. *
These days the light in the city fades by around 1500 IST, and by 1700 hours it gets really dark.
The organisers are keeping their fingers crossed. In case it rains, there may be only a three-day game as the forecast for Monday is good, the met department pointed out.

There you go…India wins the series 1-0 !!

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Its high time we get Yuvi in the test team............that ways we will have an extra bowler, super in-form batsman and the best fielder in the Indian side...........what a waste of talent!!

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

what a bad luck…

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

I was thinking the same...why are they not considering Praveen at all...he bowled really well in the last ODI....i am alsmost 100% sure that agarkar will be joining the indian team in Aus....he enjoys an excellent record against aussies in aus....

Re: 3rd Test: India v Pakistan at Bangalore - Dec 08

Younus Khan has refused to captain in 3rd test. According to latest breaking news on GEO.
