Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Feel sorry for the bowlers, toiled so hard yesterday only to have their efforts wasted within a few minutes of sloppy cricket.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
all pakistan need now is another poor umpiring decision which gives inzamam out and its all over
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
We have already made Panesar a national hero. Only person to miss out was Mahmood, looks like his turn has come today: I predict a fiver is coming his way.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
May be he should go back and ask his uncle to give him more batting coaching.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
When your top two batsmen (openers) are **** and lower order is against the law of average, every wicket is precious. And then to have TWO RUN OUTS in one match, how do you recover from that?
Those bashing Kamran Akmal, yes he's had a terrible series. But here is our problem, not all batsmen in a team perform all the time. Sometimes the top order performs, sometimes the middle order, and sometimes the lower order. Our middle and lower order have been pulling us out of difficult situations for nearly two years now, and were BADLY up against the odds to do it yet again. OPENERS! That's who have cost us this series. Forget the runs, how hard could it be for two batsmen to last 20 fking overs just once in a test series!
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Only thing missing from this picture is Inzi finding yet another comical way to get out. Other than that, all of us here KK have seen this too many times before.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
holaey ehsan bhai holaey.
Our 1st innings batting and 2nd innings bowling didn't dissapoint, so now we're makin up for that.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
poor umpiring is beyond their control.. but u gotta blame pak for poor captaincy and poor selection
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Anyhow, all is not lost yet. Inzi and Younis should try to build a partnership, and keep scoring runs as that dilutes the pressure. Try to save the match, and think about winning it if these two are still at the crease an hour after tea.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Hopefully Inzi and Younis will be repeating Jayawardene performance:(
Anyway, these 2 need to stay till tea. Pakistan need to keep all the 5wickets intact till tea. Only then Pakistan can acheive a favourable result i.e a draw.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
It will be all over by tea.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
pak has a long tail forget about winning..one more wicket and you are done.just gotta survive now.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Our first test series loss in England for almost two and a half decades. 2-0 with one to go. Disappointing performance. Bowlers had a decent day yesterday and the opportunity was there.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Exactly, I said it after the Lord’s game that despite Moyo’s heroics what is worrying is that the team was dependent on one person saving the game. Apart from Moyo, Younis and to a certain extent Inzi, NO ONE has even looked like getting runs. And when you depend on a select few players time and again, lady luck is going to catch up and you will have to pay a heavy price.
Can’t help but think Afridi and Razzaq must be sniggering to themselves. Number 6 Iqbal and specialist openers Butt/Taufeeq have hardly justified their selection.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
I suspect the usual inevitable face saving partnership between these two. Then one will get out (of course that won’t have anything to do with the bowling). Then finally the tail folds and the collapse is complete.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Pakistan suffered what we all were not hoping for. Stupid dismissal while chasing the target (yousuf) and then couple more under pressure, faisal and akmal.
Still 62 more overs to go, and these 2 definitely have the potential to survive for 30 more overs till tea.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
62 overs or 372 balls to survive. Looks very very difficult.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
Well I wouldnt argue against dropping Afridi, but Razzaq has been our insurance policy for saving games in the past couple of yeras. Tried and tested! And on top of that he can launch an attack should we need to aggressively chase down a target. We should not have dropped him and i think he'd have taken the wickets Sami did anyway.
Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.
it was a big mistake dropping razzaq ..i think he should've been played in place of iqbal whos not that good a batsman..razzaq would've done well on the first day when the ball for moving around and sami was going for 6 runs an over.
