You can’t say that Taufeeq Umer or in today’s case, even Salman Butt got out to tricks of the new ball. They just didn’t have the temperament and the mental strength needed today, and this is where Shoaib Malik has been excellent in the past two years. He is not as skilled as either of these two (or any of our other openers), but is a fighter and plays with determination (not unlike Younis Khan). We need fighters, not losers

Well said and totally agree. Why do you think they don't have the temperament and the mental strength needed today game? Can something be done about i.e. psychology etc or does this become naturally? Maybe another thread can be opened to discussed.

The law of averages had to catch up sooner or later. You can't have 2-3 men scoring all the team's runs. The rest of the batting needs to show up today or it will be an early night for all of us.

Well with Inzi and Akmal still to bat, we certainly can still win the match if Faisal Iqbal makes up for his duck in the first innings, and Younis Khan makes up for two run outs by surving the first AND second sessions!
