3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Mind blowing analysis by Nasser Hussain, you mean openers can actually learn from their mistakes???

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Shahid Nazir into the attack

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Give Sami rest and bring Nazir in…voilá… :k:

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Cricinfo rubbing it in for sure :hehe:

Rubbish over. No consistency whatsoever from Sami

6.2 Mohammad Sami to Strauss, FOUR, ah, super shot – albeit to a filthy wide delivery, absolute filth that was. Strauss pumps it through cover off the back foot, rocketing for four.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

the first change bowler is already in after 6 overs :bummer:
Good delivery by Nazir to beat Strauss
4 runs of his first over
Eng 35-0

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

We all know what Sami can do. Bob and Inzi made ONE right decidion but br ingin Shahid Nazir in, they could have gone one step further and not give Sami the new ball. He was never a 'new ball' bowler, you konw, the ones who get wickets with their line-length nagging. They should have let Shahid Nazir share the new ball with Umer Gul, deny easy runs, APPLY pressure, and hopefully one of them could have gotten a wicket.

Then Sami could be given the old ball and told to bowl his aggressive best. BUT NO, we HAD to give him the new ball and totally waste the early morning advantage.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

now Ramiz Raja is repeating my thoughts. It was a waste of the new ball to let Sami have it. He should have brought to bowl later on, and told to be aggressive and fast.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Sami, the pace spearhead, removed after 4 embarassing overs.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

^ sadly its true :bummer:

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

two 4's by to back of the bowling of Gul by Trescothick

Eng 44-0 after 10 overs

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

It's so funny how the England openers are hooking and pulling so freely. If we were batting our openers at this time would hanging on for dear life, swishing away trying to make contact. Mercifully they would have put been out of their misery in a just a few minutes.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

I don't see how we can get 10 wickets, I think we will make a record for not being able to bowl out the opposition even once in a test series.

Pakistani bowling analysis after 1st and 2nd test:

short, wide, 4

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

HomiD, dont post such stats. Aur tup charhti hai :grumpy: I am sure Woolmer must be seething seeing such useless stuff from Sami.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Shahid Nazir already creating troubles and showing he should have opened the bowling. This also tells how pitch is conducive to swing bowling rather than pathetic skiddy bowling from Sami..

oh God, I need to save my braincells :hehe:

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Well, there are times when you have to 'accept' that you are seeing what you are. I'll spare Bob, Inzi and PCB. I guess we have to live with the fact that our bench strength in the bowling department is just crap. It breaks my heart to see that the team of Wasim and Waqar has come to a point where people like Strauss are upper cutting and pulling us without fear. Sad sad state of affairs. But we couldn't have done anthing to prevent this. We have no more bowlers. So let's not bash our team, (do bash the bowlers), and just wait for better times.

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Good ball by Nazir, bounced from no where hitting Trescothick on fingers

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

Looks like ODI stats here:

England 52/0 (12.2 ov)

Re: 3rd Test - Eng vs Pak - Leeds, 4th-8th Aug.

every England batsman to make a fifty in this series so far has gone on to make a hundred…little stat there for the stattos among you
