Even though two top order batsmen were not out (lbws), Aussies haven't come out crying about it which is nice to see. Indian media would have gone crazy if it had happened to them. The fact the Hayden wasn't playing this match also helped India's cause.

Kumble's captaincy wasn't as attacking as I would have liked but then again India's bowling didn't have the bite to finish things off even at WACA's wicket.

India will be thrashed by angry Aussies in the next game.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

Did you seriously expect the Aussies to come out crying against the two wrong LBWs ? What "moral high ground" can they take after being the beneficiary of so many outrageous Umpiring decisions in recent times (including in the previous series against Sri Lanka).

Even former Aussie player Ian Harvey was pointing out after yesterday's game - that the Aussies cannot complain given that Tendulkar/Dhoni/Pathan also got wrong decisions in this very Test.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

^ True. Hence the need to use more technology in cricket

I know there were several other bad decisions in this game but just as an example the two wrong LBWs yesterday could have been easily avoided if the on-field umpires were allowed to consult the third umpire. After watching the replays it was clear as crystal that Symonds edged the ball onto his pads and the ball which got rid of Hussey was comfortably going over the stumps.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

If Indians were in Aussie shoes, I seriously think they would have come out flexing their muscles again and media would have spiced things up for their cheap entertainment and rozi/roti.

Technology in cricket is a good idea, however, it is not as instantaneous as one would like. That is true for the 'sniko'. You don't get the truth of sniko until after two/three balls have been delivered. Personally, I think any challenge to the umpire's decision should come at a cost of 20 runs. It will shut the players up and the game will go on unless really in doubt.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

^ Ok then limit the maximum number of appeals to 3 or 4 per innings which would roughly mean an additional 12-15 minutes of play per day. I don't think it's asking too much of ICC if it guarantees that the on-field (and third) umpires would get 95% (it still won't be 100%) of the decisions right. Bad decisions mar a good game of cricket (or any sport for that matter). Human error is no longer a good excuse in this day and age.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

So two decisions can affect the mighty Aussies as well .i am glad to know that .

Now i want to know how Aussies will survive with almost 9 decisions going against them in cruical moments . Then i want to see the same umpire umpiring in their matches for 10 years doing the same mistakes.

Then i want to see the Aussie reaction after 10 years ,how they are feeling ?

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

we got two decisions against Dravid and Ganguly in the second test against SA last year in the crucial time . We didn't make any noise .

The reason here is ''we don't want Bucknor in any of our matches .''.
plus in this test ,there were no bumped cathes claimed .Nor Kumble acted as fifth umpire in the field .

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

yes - really…

you’d had to have read my dozen or so posts in KK to know that I support India when they’re not playing Pakistan. My mind hasn’t been brainwashed by anti-India rhetoric and I consider gorey as far more of enemies that the fellow brownkind.

Also, lest it be said… who wouldn’t want the other team to win when Aus is the opponent.

Re: 3rd Test: Australia vs. India at Perth (WACA) Jan. 16-20, 2008

if you beat a team which won 16 matches and all thats wins come to teams account :)

India has a good record against them in recent times Aussie 10 vs India 8 so thats always a positive
