So Australia got saved again.

Guess we have to be satisfied with a 4-2 series win now.

Re: 3rd ODI - India v Australia Hyderabad, 5th October 2007

I honestly don't see how India can beat Australia after pissing them off with childish sledging from Bhajji and the dancer. They are now determined to shut India out and with Sachin and Dravid still there causing Yuvi and R sharma to come down the order it ain't gonna happen.

Re: 3rd ODI - India v Australia Hyderabad, 5th October 2007

^I don't think the sledginig business has anything to do with the results.

The reason is quite simle : The Indian top order is not firing at all.

I had high hopes from Dravid, given that he is free from the burden of Captaincy. But he has been a disappoinment and so has Tendu....(sorry 40+ is not good enough). Also, I don't think Gangu (though he was not included for this match) can succeed against the Aussies.

So the top order batting is left to Gambhir and Uthappa -both of whom are hardly consistent performers themselves.

Bottom line - we should not expect Yuvraj and Dhoni to win us ODIs as this format is vastly different from Twenty20s.

Re: 3rd ODI - India v Australia Hyderabad, 5th October 2007

^Man, it wasn't the worst match for India.

Harbhajaan seems to have found a bit of form, was bowling very wel. Had Ponting confounded with the doosra.

Dhoni, though got out at really inopportune time, batted well. He's hitting the ball well and his keeping was excellent. Standing up to Pathan isn't a piece of cake.

Tendulkar may have 40+ next to his name on the scorecard but it was very clear he was struggling. After the fielders were dropped back, he repeatedly failed to get the ball past the infield even with only 4 fielders in it.

Pathan, again, was okay but gave away few easy runs. He probably bowls a few too many slower balls. Don't surprise as much.

Uthappa has a huge problem with getting across a long way. Reminiscent of early Ponting but he could play around it pretty well. Aus have figured Uthappa out pretty well though.

Yuvraj played a phenomenol knock. Paced it to perfection. He really is a class player. Backlift is a touch like Lara's and he plays with a lot of style.

Opening bowlers and top order let India down. That a game was still on till 40 overs shows there is potential there.

Anyway, I'm just hoping for a competitive series. Seems unlikely with top order crumbling though.
