Ufone sends my message to restart my phone and enjoy free 3G while its in testing.
After restart I was still getting E…reason…

There are a lot more uses than just surfing the internet and checking emails. They can pretty much get rid of the voice network and soon everything would be just VoIP. The phone companies know that and that’s why its being given to us piecemeal. This is what happened to SMS, they kept charging an arm and a leg and it was just bits that went away with the advent of the likes of Whatsapp, Skype and Viber.
That’s what I was thinking too, but I guess nobody wants to invest more money till they squeeze out the last bit from the cheapest tech. (see my comment above about piecemeal
Check and see if your phone is capable of doing 3g. Also check the setting in Mobile Data to see if 3g is enabled. What phone do you have?

3G is always enabled. I got above mentioned reply in SMS. I will retry from different location,forgot to try from gulberg last night.
Telenor charging users for "free" 3G service during testing. Problem is with billing system. User is billed Rs18/MB when moves from 2G service zone to 3G.

Seems like all these telecoms are buying 2nd hand equipment from other countries who have switched to LTE anyways . They might have donated it to them for free , you never know :D

^Obviously both Pakistan and India are behind advanced nations in terms of technology implementation,when it comes to G.S.M but both these nations may be having the highest density of users compared to many of the advanced nations.One thing may be that,the initial technology platforms like C.D.M.A ,T.D.M.A. ,or 2G in both the countries had been able to garner mass customer base and the operators would have been forced to stay withg the existing technology platforms for a long time.
SriLanka had implemented 4G long back than India(but only in a limited area in and around the capital Colombo,Negombo areas).I believe population plays a role in technology adaptation. :D
