“The countdown for the judges’ reinstatement has not yet started”, said PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari adding that it would start after the completion of Federation.
In an interview with a private TV channel Monday, Asif reiterated his party’s stance that the sacked judges would be reinstated through a resolution as per Murree Declaratoin. “Efforts are underway to build coordination about the resolution to be tabled in the National Assembly for the judges’ reinstatement”, Zardari said.
To a question, he said, “We don’t want such judiciary which may be influenced by a government”. To another question, he said as per political reconciliation process, his party wanted to take MQM and Baloach leaders on board. “I’ll take part in by-elections from Rawalpindi”, Zardari said adding that the decision of giving party ticket to Aitzaz Ahsan had not yet decided.
