My 3 month old, like most babies loves sucking his hands or fingers, what ever he can get hold off. Ive tried taking it out of his mouth but he gets it back in some how. I dont have much problem with him doing that since it calms him down but the problem is .. Since he is still a baby his hand movements are not coordinated and the hand comes out of his mouth and he cries hysterically!!!
Once in a while i let him suck when he upset since it soothes him but it annoys me so much that he cries so bad when it comes out because he is a happy baby otherwise and this useless crying worries me.

he has probably started teething.. check his gums with your clean finger and if he is teething, try giving him a teether or just wait for this phase to be over soon

Mine did the same starting 2 months, his index finger, two fingers, the thumb. He likes to suck his thumb and I really don’t know how to get him to stop, I can think of trying to soothe himself and or teething.
Also, he has suddenly become more clingy and wants to be held all the time. He throws a lottt of milk due to reflux problem. I am not sure if its linked to the sucking thing.
Ill check his mouth tomorrow. Do kids start teething as early as this??

Lol weird to know others are also thinking what I am - wow you had a baby! You got married a few months before me so I was always on the wedding forum in those days and I remember reading your wedding posts and something about red and purple coloured bridals lol. How weird you have a 3 month old and now I’m almost 3 months pregnant myself hehee! Congrats on your news x
hehe… cant really do much bout the hand sucking… and yup..some babies start teething sensation as early as 2 months.
as for reflux.. thats such a pain… if its definately reflux.. you can start him off on formula for babies with reflux. AR its called..in any brand. (enfamil AR, nan AR, etc) . (dont know if you r breast feeding)
midget used to drink enfamil AR. and dr.brown bottles helped a lot!
but make sure he has reflux. majority of babies spit up milk.

Yup I was veryy active on the wedding forum back then. I think i started the lazy brides thread lol .. And oh my what a memory ..i had a red & deep purple dress.

Khawa - i breast feed him almost on 9 feeds and for 1 feed at night ive started fornula called Aptamil. He still has the reflux.

Congratulations and yes babies do suck on hands or anything they get their hands on…my baby is 5 months old n teething as well…I tried everything (from pacifier to different kinds of teether)to keep her hands out of her mouth but in vain..because until month back she couldnt hold a thing properly n it was my job to keep putting teether back after every second n it wasn’t helping her much either ..eventually I learned that I can’t help with the hands…that’s the only thing which soothes her so be it…her hands cleanliness is always insured
As for reflux…my daughter was diagnosed with reflux as well n doctor recommended gaviscon for her…have u talked to her doctor?..
