Re: 3 month old obsessed with sucking fingers/hands
I’ve seen a baby put his entire fist in his mouth and suck on it. I don’t get it. Is a baby’s fist smaller than their mouth…or does the mouth open wider than their fist? It was pretty funny/interesting to watch.

Hi Daffy, hope little one is keeping you happy and calm :))))
Teething is a process that starts for many babies as young as 2-3 months , doesnt mean they might just start popping teeth at the same time, some do , some take ages but the teething process can last for months and months ..
My son started putting his hands in his mouth when he was just a month and a half and I couldnt let him get used to the habit of it , so I used to put mittens on until he got used to a pacifier , which he did .. and then got him to use teethers slowly taking him off the pacifier .. I think its more like a comfort thing for the babies to such on their hands ..
The funny bit is just around the corner for you, when they start staring at their hands , wondering what these are for lol .. mine would do that for hours , just stared at them, enjoyed the moving fingers lol funny sight , that was !

Hey daffy, congrats on the baby.
I used to keep lot of teething rattles around him. Eventually he started picking them up and tried putting them in mouth. My son started teething around 3 months as well, his first tooth popped around 5/6 months.
Went to the doctor for his vaccinations and got his mouth checked; turns out yes he is teething!!!
I have given him teethers but he is least interested .. His hands are the tastiest!!! He too puts his entire fist inside sometimes.
CB - he discovered his hands about a month ago. These days he has discovered his feet. Thats the cutest thing when he gets surprised that they move when he moves them. I put on colourful socks and he just laughs and stares at his feet. So adorable Masha Allah!!
Just wait until he discovers he can put his foot in his mouth too!!
I wouldn’t worry too much about stopping him from putting his hands/feet in his mouth…it’s natural. As he grows, his curiosity will too…and he’s learning eye/hand coordination. Keep offering him teethers or a cold/frozen washcloth to chomp on…it will help sooth his sore gums
All babies do this and and eventually he’ll outgrow it.
