What you call a modern world is your own little duniya where if things are not going according to your personal wishes than its not acceptable
I am not into polygamy but I dont think that people who marry twice at the same time do it cause they lost respect for the first wife, maybe sometime, but it cannot be a general rule

Oh its practically accepted for a man in this (westerN) society to have multiple gfs, to sleep around, to have children OUT OF WEDLOCK with multiple women, without any consequences, but God forbid he marry a second woman, that's just disgusting.

Yesterday! My colleague was telling us that, his brother married twice in the same month, after getting permission from his new first wife. I thought it be disrespectful to both the wives, not one.

I'm married in an arab family and most of my in-laws side, friends and colleagues have more than 1 wife. they all lead normal lives and accept each other as family. This is very common in the middle-east.
