A good day for Pakistan but I am not celebrating yet. I have seen enough test cricket over the years to know how quickly this game can change in one crazy session
It was Friday (1st day of 1st test) too when Pakistan appeared to be in a dominant position against SA only for the latter to turn the game upside down in one mad session the next day.
Although SA appear to be in trouble at the moment, they would still feel confident about winning if their last 5 batsmen can reduce the deficit to under 100 runs.
One thing we must bear in mind though is that Pak batting is more than capable of imploding for < 150 in the second innings!
Hence it is vitally important that we get a good enough first innings lead. The bigger, the better
Congrats to Ajmal for his 5-for. has silenced those who were quick to label him as a slow track bully after the first test
They have played excellent cricket in 1st two days of the test and put the number one team on the back foot. I don't think any one expected Pakistan to be in this position considering the 1st test match. So enjoy what progress Pakistan has made and hope for the best for the rest of the match.

To have them on the back foot is a great achievement for a team which was being written off before the test series started. I am confident that with a lead of 100 and a good batting performance in the second innings and SA batting fourth we can win this match. They are good but they are even better chokers under pressure.

True, the team has done better than we all expected with both bat and ball (plus in the absence of Junaid) which is credit to them but unfortunately, like in any other sport, it is the winner who takes all in the end and gets all the plaudits. In tennis for instance the fact that it was 6 games all will be little consolation to the player if he then plays badly in tie-break to lose the set 11-9 or 13-11 or whatever!! Similarly the fact that Pakistan dominated x no. out of the 15 sessions of the test will be little consolation to them eventually if they do not go on to win it. Hopefully they won't repeat the mistakes of the last test and make the first 2 days' effort count tomorrow ... fingerscrossed inshallah . Batting in second innings is the key for me.
One great or one bad session w'd most likely decide the outcome of this test. All I am saying is that Pakistan need to guard against complacency and carelessness over the remaining days. Still plenty of time left in this game.

He was upset because Davis gave him out :D ....the 12th man they were relying on...
What a ridiculous umpire. The 2 he gave not out with Ajmal's deliveries, were over turned by Bowden sitting in the third Umps role.
I was petrified whenever Steve Davis would be an Ump with India playing England or other Western country. Enough evidence he favors the West.

Re: 2nd Test Pakistan Vs. South Africa - Feb. 14, 2013, Newlands, Capetown RSA
Bit over the top. Our tail did the same thing. Match is evenly poised and SA is going to bat fourth. A good batting performance and Pakistan will win this match. Inshallah
