2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

When :afridi: tampered the ball everybody was gone bezerk and now No body saying anything to anyone…Game should have been stopped there

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Re. forfeited Oval Test of 2006, it was because of Inzy's stupidity. He overreacted. It was wrong (and unprofessional) of him not to take the field however bad he felt about the penalty at the time. It should have been left to the team management to deal with it. Umpires did not stop the game. Inzi and co. forfeited themselves. And Pakistan were in a winning position against England in that test!

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

South Africa have ruined a perfect test for themselves. Regardless of the magnitude of victory, there will always be whispers after this game.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

agreed...height of stupidity! unbelievable.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

verdict is in by ICC:

Faf du Plesis has been fined 50% of the match fee.

what an easy let off! since he did NOT contest [pleaded guilty] and it was his first offense.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Asad Shafiq just survived...he was given out then he went upstairs for a review and he won...congrats. :)

the ball missed the leg stump by a whisker!

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

MashaAllah nice fight back by Misbah & Shafiq

Another nice partnership

196/4

The new ball is now available and with it comes the real test for Misbah and Shafiq. Can they see off Steyn and Philander?

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

198/4 :jhanda:

12.00 pm Good stuff from Pakistan. Misbah-ul-Haq and Asad Shafiq have denied South Africa a wicket for an entire session; there were no real chances either. So South Africa have taken only two wickets in the last three sessions. However, they have another five sessions to go to take these remaining six Pakistan wickets, and they are 220 runs ahead at the moment. The second new ball is only four overs old so seeing that off will be key for Pakistan.
I’ll be back in about 40 minutes for the second session.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

205/4

It only depends on this partnership, whenever they are on wicket there is some hope else :hinna:

Game time. From Pakistan’s point of view, they need Misbah and Shafiq to bat on and on and on. South Africa will be a little frustrated but they know they have ample time to take these remaining six wickets.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

228/4

Amr: “Where would Pakistan be without the stabilising influence of Misbah! A truly phenomemal player who will surely be missed when he one day retires!”

High praise for Misbah from Sikander: “I would rate Misbah with the likes of great Imran Khan… Second best leader Pakistan has ever produced after the legend Imran Khan…!!”

But I would like to rate Misbah above of Imran Khan as Imran had legend Javed, Waim, Waqar and other players but Misbah have a weakest team Pakistan ever had and always fighting alone. Hats off for this great player :salute:

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

237/4 :jhanda: easy guys …now i m dreaming about these batsmen to be on crease for the remaining two sessions and tomorrow at least 2 sessions

108.4 80.6 kph, Misbah, what have you done?! After surviving so many sterner tests yesterday and today, Misbah gives part-time spinner Dean Elgar his first Test wicket. He cannot believe what he has done and trudges of the field so slowly. Elgar delivered an innocuous little tossed up ball outside off stump and Misbah wound up to slog that into oblivion. Instead, he got an outside edge that was held by Kallis at first slip. A brainfade similar to what Younis had last evening. Visible relief on the faces of the South Africans. Smith is thrilled with his bowling change. 267/5

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Hamza: “Ah Misbah !! what was that man ??? It was a nightmare for me.”
Hamid Ali: “Oh, Misbah! When you will you learn to finish off the job? It’s like getting out to Joginder Sharma once again. Why give hope if you are hopeless yourself?”

Oliver Jones: “While it’s a silly wicket for Pakistan to lose, massive credit must go to Smith for throwing the ball to a variety of people. The element of surprise has broken vital partnerships in this innings.”

Vic: “Ohhh Misbah! How could you do that?? What a shame. It was reminiscent of a soldier who survived the war when all the bullets were flying by his nose and then got run over by a bicycle in his native town..”

Hasan Ejaz: “Here comes the Anti-Misbah brigade again. I can’t blame him for the shot but rather the execution. There is no way Pakistan can survived the whole two remaining days so they would have to get runs when possible to make a challenging target for SA. Elgar is a bowler against whom you could accomplish some quick runs, hitting him wasn’t the wrong decision but the execution was poor.”

Hussain: “@Zakir: It’s sad when people just for the sake of making a comment make a comment without knowing too many things! Misbah did give ball to Azhar Ali, who is a part time leggie! It didn’t work for him, too bad for him & Pakistan! It worked for Smith, lucky him. You need luck too at times! So give credit where its due.”

2.40 pm One ball, one moment of indiscretion, has given South Africa the opening they began to so desperately want, and undone hours of hard grind from Pakistan. Misbah battled so valiantly against bowlers of greater skill before giving it away against Dean Elgar via a slog. Azhar Ali is still out there though, and he needs to rally with the lower order to see Pakistan through to stumps. South Africa have four sessions to take five wickets but they will hope they need only one. I’ll be back in 20 minutes for the final session of play.

Kash team time tuk rah jata :hinna:
