chalo jee, innings and 92 runs defeat sigh

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

SA was the better team but the question is how much of this victory was due to the zip.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

lets remain grounded.....ball tampering or no tampering, South Africa completes an astounding win against Pakistan. That's some hammering....yes we can not ignore ball tampering impact as we dont know if our key players got out fair or not but still...it is a huge defeat margin

after all we didnt even bowl well and let them score so many runs....our fielding was horrible, we dropped so many catches, batting as always was pathetic and bowling was poor in this test match as well...

our tail end remains one of the weakest....some of them dont even know to hold bat properly.

Openers showed some potential but overall looked unimpressive after one innings....khurram had no idea where his off-stmup is....one century and then 3 ducks....

younis khan failed in all 4 innings in an imp series and he wants to play ODIs as well? he played some lose shots as well.

asad played really well..his 2nd century against SA's world class attack...

azhar will be dropped and for the right reasons...but we have nothing in bench...that worries me most...stop beating the drums, we have so much talent but selection is not fair! where is that talent..i cant see it in last 10 years....

lets not hide behind ball tampering excuses..which was an important issue and should be discussed on merit but not as a sole excuse of this defeat.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Lets stay grounded and not rule out the effect of the zip 13 wickets for 161 runs when the zip was in operation 177/1 wicket without the zip. says it all. Wonder how long this has been going on with this team and how many wickets steyn and co have had due to the zip over time. Lets not be over critical of our team all the time and had the Pakistani player done this you would have gone overboard in criticising them. Lets have some criticism of the zip as well and stay grounded.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

lol..like the way you put it...zip or no zip...

sir jee i am not trying to ignore the zip impact ... and by the way ICC punishment and handling of this issue is not fair at all and I am very upset but i will reflect upon that in a separate thread

but I dont want to hide our weaknesses behind zip....that is all....i am focusing on non-zip events

on a turning wicket in our own back yard with some good spinners on our side, we let them score close to 600 runs......we dropped catches and bowled poorly for many sessions. now that has nothing to do with zip

even after zip was caught, we bundled in no time once misbah got out

that we got bowled under 100 eight times in last 4 years......more than any team including Bangladesh....it a'int a zip every time!

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

I don't think anybody is claiming Pakistan's got the best batsmen. But reverse swing plays a huge role in bowling. ICC should make sure ball wasn't tampered with in the 1st innings as well. If a team can do that when they are in a winning position they probably did that when they were beaten by 6th ranked team.

Despite the loss, Pakistan move up to 4th (from 6th) place in ICC test rankings

I hope Pakistan can remain in top 4 positions. I'm not sure when test championship is but I think only top 4 teams will be participating.

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

Pakistan should focus on beating SLA in UAE in Dec 2013. so they can at least improve their rating points

Re: 2nd Test: Pakistan v South Africa at Dubai, Oct 23-27, 2013

nice fighting knock by Misbah and Asad. They were looking very good today. First innings 99 made huge impact. If we had some good runs in 1st innings thing would ave been much different.
SA didnt looked to me like no.1 team.

I want the crowd in the ODI matches to boo the hell out of this African team and just like what England did to us in 2010

How about bringing our best all rounder ever back ie Shoaib Malik in Tests as well as ODI? Why not make him the captain again

**Talent alone won’t win you matches, Misbah tells team
**
“I think the lack of consistency is because we depend on talent and talent can only help you once or twice but for consistency you need commitment, hard work and attitude,” said Misbah.
“We must accept that after one or two good performances we get relaxed.”
