Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
with the news of Asif's inclusion from cricinfo several days ago (not confirm) we can surely expect a thaka hoa/mara hoa track to ensure no assistance for fast bowlers
I read today that he is going to Aust today for checkup and will not play.
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
What you guys think of Anil Kumbley's captaincy??? I hope I get some answers from Indian fellows too.
Anil Kumble's captaincy has been good at home where pitches are made to spinners' liking. Still, i like what i see so far but I wouldnt come to a conclusion until i see him captaining in Australia, South Africa and England.
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
We can safely say now that Pakistan is out of the woods.
It will take atleast one session fro Indians to dismiss Pakistan and then they will have to bat for 2 sessions, leaving Pakistan 2 to 3 sessions max to hold on.

Agreed, if we bat till tea today, the match is dead from a result point of view
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
Sami and Akmal have only batted their way out of their fielding and bowling failures, so things have only evened out so far.
Misbah on the other hand is just too freakin good.. a consistant batsman for a change. Hope he does well on non-subcontinental pitches too.
Misbah will get his chance against Australia in the not so distant future. He bats with a high back lift and likes the ball to come onto the bat and he may actually thrive on those Australian wickets. Time will tell whether he's good enough to score runs consistently against the likes of Lee, Clarke and Johnson
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
This follow on crap never really mattered when we started the day to be honest. Kumble wouldn't have put us in even if we were bowled out before 416. They key was to see off precious time, and that has been done. One more session of good batting, and India can forget about winning the match.
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
i hope the curators at banglore have some 'nads and prepare a proper cricketing turf. lets have a proper contest between, as arun lal would say, 'bat and ball'.
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
As arun lal would say, 'bat and ball'.
Arun caught plagiarizing. "Bat and ball" is exclusive only to Waqar Younis. Of course, "put" almost always comes before it, to complete the humor part.
Re: 2nd Test: India v Pakistan at Kolkata - Nov 30-Dec 4, 2
Plumb LBW. Plumb as daylight, horrible decision.
THERE WAS A HUGE ANGLE on the ball, and haweye showed that it was touching the TOP OF THE MIDDLE and LEG. HEIGHT and GOING DOWN LEG. Not a bad decision. YOu are buying into Arun Lal's whining.
