Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
India can get Australia out tomorrow around 250......Harbhajan and Kumble doing the trick. That would be something to watch. Hopefully my FTA will be up and running by then and I can catch it on CBN!
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
I am very disappointed to see Yuvraj failing like this. However the performance by Big four was brilliant and it shows that aussie new bowling attack still has a long way to go before the void (McGrath and Warne) is filled.
Hopefully Kumble and Harbhajan can skittle aussies in second innings and for a change Bucknor will refer to third umpire in case of indian appeals too:)

The third Umpire is no less than Bucknor....refused to rule Symonds stumped....even though his feet was clearly in the air when the bails were dislodged.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
Even though India is in a good position in this test but I am sure the Aussies and hte umpires will make sure they win this test match to break the record or set the record as we have seen the crimes commited by the umpires in the first inning.

Errors by third umpires are inexcusable, really.
Bucknor didn't refer the decision to the third umpire.....that's why everyone was upset. Bucknor just gave it not out without the referral.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
^he is talking about day 1
you are talking about day 2
trust me, there were plenty of decisions that were absolutely shocking, thats why there is a lot of talk and experts and former players calling for some changes to be made
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
You have to feel for India. It's not like there was an LBW appeal turned down or a faint edge. Symonds got a real thick edge and was alomost about to go himself before he realised umpire was playing deaf.
3rd umpire only has one job and he did a pathetic mess of it with that stumping. All commentators, MArk Taylor, Ian Chappel and Mark Nicholas, thought he was out for sure.
BTW, Harbhajan may be out for the rest of the series if found guilty of Level III charge.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
Some very good bowling going on this morning - cant recall the last time Indian bowling showed the discipline to successfully employ a 8-1 field. 3 maidens in a row. Ishant has been a revelation, didnt think much of his bowling before.
Cant figure out the Aussie plan either - batsmen not showing much intent to force the proceedings. Dravidgiri is taking hold.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
chalo, looks like our bowlers have decided to show the commentators they can be more "positive" - this off stump nonsense was getting too boring. Lets bowl on the leg stump with one fielder on the leg side.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
Aussie commentators are funny - overnight, bowling a tight off stump line has become "negative bowling".
Commentators like these will never be able to hold a candle to the fact that you should always give the batsman, a 'little room outside the off-stump' (shades of Waqar Younis in a half-desi half-Australian accent :D)

Dhobi bhai jee, you are making me nostalgic now. Those were the days - never know what you will miss till you miss it (I am talking like Waqar now:)). Waisay, since we are on the topic of premier commentators, wonder what "offseason" training regimen Messrs. Sohail and Lal are using to keep their skills sharpened. Cant wait for the improved and enhanced version next series.
Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008
*If *Aus declare with a reasonable score, India should really go for it. Sachin said a victory here would be the highlight of his career and if they want to keep the series alive they will have to play aggresively.
Perth will almost certainly be a loss to the Indians. The T20 game and domestic fixtures show there is steep bounce and the Indian batsmen will struggle immensely. Thus, if within reason, India should really go for it because a draw will be like surrendering the sereis.
