2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

they were not just appealing. they were celebrating and ponting raised his finger to let the umpire know it was a clean catch and thus out. what happened to bucknor and his opinion. benson only looked at ponting who had his finer up indicating the decision.

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Decent point. I am sure had it been Bucknor instead, he wouldn't have referred it to Benson at square leg, either. Why rely on your fellow umpire when you have been spoon-fed the decision from the opposing captain?

Wow. Just wow.

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Australia wins the match by 122 runs, leads the series 2-0

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Its a devastating loss for India, nothing went their way, don't know whether they'll be able to recover from it.

Clark's three wickets in a over did it for Australia.

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

wow what a phenomenal, spine chilling over from Clarke.
It was an astonisshing triumph, Kumble fought but he was a sole fighter for the team, I feel sad for him
Nonetheless great victory. No other team would have been able to pull such a situation off

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

India choked in the last moment .Do u know why such a situation occured ?

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

so much for so called aussie’s sportsman ship  Ponting’s gestures would have warranted a hearing for any other captain.

This is one of the rare undeserving aussie wins in recent times because of appalling decisions and unhealthy sportsmanship

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

No need to be so harsh on India. India deserved to atleast draw this game after posting an impressive 532 in the first innings. What happened to India on the final day would have happened to every single team against Australia. They are a class-act who just never give up hope of winning at any stage. 8 balls is all that India needed to survive to avoid going down 0-2 in the series but it was n't to be. With just two overs to go and 3 wickets still remaining, India would be disappointed at losing a game in which they fought back so bloody hard. It is very easy to criticise India but when was the last time Pakistan matched Australia in a test match in Australia or scored 400 against them? In 2004 the first test finished inside 3 days and the second and third in 3.5 days!

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Plus it seems India were hard done by some very poor umpiring decisions

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Absolutely pathetic umpiring. Dravid's dismissal was the turning point and he was clearly not out.

Australia did not deserve this win and Kumble fought extremely hard. Kudos to him on such a fine effort.

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

really astonished at the umpiring

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

this has to be the most pathetic umpiring ive witnessed in recent times.

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

Bucknor should retire before soething happens to him ..... Benson doesn't belong to this level rather to th county cricket

I hope DAR and some other useful Umpire beside Taufel officiate in the coming Tests .....

Hopefully soon some umpire has the balls to charge Ponting for behaviuor but all that is wishful thinking i know

Re: 2nd Test Australia vs. India at Sydney Jan 02-06 2008

From what I have read on cricinfo two decisions were dubious one of Dravid and the other of Ganguly, what about the other 8 wickets, India didnt play very well and as usual Tendi chocked when his country needed him most. Yes two important decisions went against them but in the final analysis it was poor batting bar Kumble.
